yep, we have that shift. I used to work it too, and I'm thankful every day that I am now off it for good. We're a level 2 trauma center, so someone is always in-house, as well as CV and neuro call teams, with general team backup call.

Specializes in OR Hearts 10.

One 7P-7A team, one call team (and 1 3rd call person), a CV crew of 3. Level 2 trauma

Specializes in OR, community nursing.

Level II trauma. Yes, we have people working around the clock.

Specializes in Retired OR nurse/Tissue bank technician.

The OR I worked in only did surgeries from 0700-1500h, with PARR there until 1600-1630. Two nurses took call every night from 1500-0700h the next day plus weekends.

The hospital I did my OR training at was a major trauma centre, so there were...3-4 teams at the hospital every night and weekends.

just got off from that shift for a month! :D

we are a OR-DR-PACU complex, 3 RNs are at work at these three areas.

We are a Level 1 Trauma/Magnet with 40 ORs so we have a specific team (called the BEST team) of 40 people who work nights, weekends and holidays so we also do not do call.

Specializes in Operating Room (and a bit of med/surg).

We have 2 RN's in house 11-7, and one person on call (someone who worked the evening shift takes call, only get called in if it's a big case, which rarely happens).

Specializes in Operating Room.

yes i work the 11-7 veryyy busy here in florida

Yup, In fact, I am on it right now!

We have two teams (a mixture of RNs and CSTS) and two back up call teams. We also have a liver transplant call team. For hearts and neuro, a call person on that team will come in and one of the shift RNs will circulate.
