For those of us who have already taken boards, please answer a few questions that might help ease the minds of those who are still waiting to test or for results. I know reading as much as possible about other people's experience helped me feel a little bit better while I waited.
1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX?
2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course?
3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)?
4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting?
5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)?
6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX?

-Saunder's Review (PN) CD 100-200 questions a day making sure to read each rationale & the Kaplan book for testing strategies.
3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)?
-NLN
4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting?
-2 business days (took Wed. found out Friday morning)
5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)?
-Was confident during the test but afterwards was very worried.

-i know the topic, sure about what it is, confused about the answer.. i am in apathy at the moment thats what happenes when i dont sleep for 24hrs:P tho werent really sure about passing.

-nope, 2nd and opppps!!!! i did it again (excerp from britney spears lol) didnt prepare and study that well, my bad:(

2. what study materials did you use? did you take a test review course? i used saunders comprehensive book 3rd ed, and tried to answer as many kaplan questions as possible everyday.

4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? im an intrnational studnt who applied in california so i waited 4 weeks before i received the letter from them. that was quite a torture!
5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? i walkd out of the testing center drained and not so well confident with my performance. the exam was the hardest.

i was for sure confident that i will fail my nclex exam but i didnt! so for those planning to take the exam, stay focus, allot time in studying, and limit your social life for a while. it will pay off in time...

i waited for 10 long weeks coz i'm foreign based (ca bon)

"blackout" for almost an hour, then cried till the early am of the next day.... that exam was the hardest i ever encountered in my life

yes.... and unfortunately i did not make it...
hope ill be able to make it the next time... at present im doing suzannes plan...

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? i have failed questions were very hard. after 5 hours was very tired happy it was over upset that i had failed. very mixed feelings.

this was my 3rd attempt but this time i passed.

at first i was happy it was over...4 hours and 220 quest. by the time i got home (45 min later) i just sat in utter disbelief and cried. i'm feeling more discouraged seeing everyone's comp. shut off at 75. however, i have a couple friends who have shut off at 115 and 180 and they passed. thing is, their results were on the bon ca website in 3 days.. and mine.... none. i'm praying

I passed in 75 questions.
I took a Kaplan course and used Saunders book as well. I think Kaplan really helped in terms of practicing on-line questions and how nclex wants you to answer questions.
When I got out of the test the ONLY reason I thought I might have passed was because the computer shut off after 75. The questions were crazy and none I'd ever had in nursing school!!!

for the span of 4 hrs

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? Coming out from the testing center was a relief because I've done it at 75. Who knows wheter I pass/fail as long as I did it at 75 with in the span of 4 hrs.I'm just satisfied with it, if the computer keeps on throwing questions on me more than 75 then my remaining time would be 2 hrs. Duh! I will panic!

4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? 24 hours, i called the state board.
5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? uncertainty, the answer options are too close to be a good choice, it felt like i had this big knot on my stomach.

bottomless -- dear we are in the same situation but the difference is I haven't yet receive mu results. Dear me, I am confident too.. Shutdown 75 with in the span of 4 hrs.
