1. i have used kaplan review for my pn and rn review and i found it very helpful. i would say the q-bank is the best review i had and yes kaplan rep. would tell you to score at least 65% on every practice test you take. the good thing about q-bank is that you could be on tutor mode while answering questions and right away get the right answer and rationale why its the right answer, i tried honest to goodness to make sure that i didnt change the answer key coz its only i who cheats myself if ill do it. the question trainer i would say, reflects in a way how the nclex test will ask question and how the situation is stated, clear and direct to the point. the first 3 question trainer are not so bad not until the 4-7 i believe it ranges from 100-265 questions, its very time consuming for me because im a slow reader and it took a while before i could finish the whole test and i keep on suspending it. study the question trainer after you get all the tips from ur class on how to choose a smart answer and also finish answering ur question bank then ur ready. goodluck to your test.
2. i used learning extension on both of my pn and rn review, i agree that it is cost effective coz you could subscribe for 2 weeks and only pay for $49. i found it resourceful when it comes to their answer coz they will list 2 books why they came up with the answer which kaplan dont and of course they'll state the rationale. the alternate-type practice questions gives me extra knowledge, their way of questioning is bit easier than kaplans question trainer but over-all if you exposed urself to different ways they ask question then ur mind will be more flexible when its time for nclex. hope that my feedback helps u, if u have any questions just message me. goodluck.
3. i would go for the complete that has the question trainer, i found the questions trainer very beneficial when i took the board 2 weeks ago and passed. goodluck.
4. hi, i was just reading about the pass/fail rules of nclex at ncsbn website: www.ncsbn.org the nclex examination will end when: a candidate's measure of competence is determined to be above or below the passing standard with at least 95 percent confidence (is significantly above or below the standard) and at least the minimum number of questions has been answered; or a candidate has taken the maximum number of questions; or a candidate has been testing for the maximum time.candidates will pass the nclex examination when: they answer at least the minimum number of questions, within the time allowed, and achieve a competence measure significantly above the passing standard; or they answer the maximum number of questions, within the time allowed, and achieve a final competence measure above the passing standard (even if not significantly above); or they answer at least the minimum number of questions, but not the maximum, using all of the time allowed, and have a competence measure above the passing standard consistently for all of the last 60 questions. not all of the last 60 items need to be answered correctly, but the competence estimate must remain above the passing standard after each of the last 60 items answered.retrieved from ncsbn website: www.ncsbn.org dated april 30, 2007
5. hi netty, i took the board last 25th and thankfully passed the board. what i noticed about the test was the situation and the question asked was very clear the critical part for me was to pick the best answer out of 4 choices and thats where i have to use m y a-b-c' s-afety skills. most of my questions are about prioritization with lab values involved so remembering those numbers will come handy when you encounter those type of situation. i have a lot of community teaching, i realized that those little things that i didnt focus on when i was reviewing showed up on my test, i got so obsessed with med-surg that i forgot those general information that i needed to know. good luck.
6. what nclex review you already studied? when i was taking my nclex 2 years ago i studied kaplan q-bank and it seems that the way they asks questions seems to be similar in some ways, it really helped me a lot but if you already did that i heard that the saunders comprehensive is pretty good too. be strong and have faith. god bless.
7. for those of us who have already taken boards, please answer a few questions that might help ease the minds of those who are still waiting to test or for results. i know reading as much as possible about other people's experience helped me feel a little bit better while i waited. 1. how many questions did you take on nclex? 79 2. what study materials did you use? did you take a test review course? i used saunders comprehensive, nursing books for reference and took kaplan review and also learning extensions 3. did your son offer any testing (eri, ati, hesi)? eri 4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? 24 hours, i called the state board. 5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? uncertainty, the answer options are too close to be a good choice, it felt like i had this big knot on my stomach. 6. was this your first attempt at nclex? yes good luck to those who are waiting and ++++ thoughts for those who are waiting on results!!

9. I just read a quote from Pearson ATT Documents that it says " You must test within the validity dates printed and validity dates cannot be extended for any reason" I would recommend you to call Pearson Vue and explain your situation and hope that they could guide you more on how to obtain a new ATT with valid dates.
10. it feels so odd, its starts to cause me a nervous breakdown, i studied for 2 months and it seems like i didnt study at all. i usually heard 75 or 265 questions people passed, how about me? im just a wreck, please help me.
