At my last employer, a local public health department, employees 0-3 years accrued 8 hours per month for a full time employee. Maximum cap was 240 hours. Sick leave was accrued separately, and at the same rate.
My employer before that combined vacation and sick time and called it paid time off. It accrued at a higher rate, .09615 per hour for the first 3 years of employment. Max accrual was 600 hours.

The hospital I worked at would let you cash them out, or you could donate to someone who was short hours.
At the local health department, your hours just stayed in your bank, but stopped accumulating. They strongly encouraged people to use their vacation time. The hospital, not so much.

Hey Nurses!
I'm conducting some research on PTO accrual times across the US. I would love to hear what yours is, especially if you are in Home Health in one of the following states - Oregon, Idaho, Colorado, Texes, South Carolina, Virginia, and Florida. I can start first! I work for a home health company in Oregon and accrue 0.01923/hour during the first four years. It caps at 110 PTO hours.
Looking forward to your responses! Thanks.
