Today I took my 6-year-old son (he will be 7 in a week) to the hospital lab for a cystic fibrosis test called a sweat test. The doctor called me today and told me that it was borderline (50) and that we have to do another one at a different hospital that I guess administers a different type of sweat test. Needless to say, I am worried sick since normal levels I am told usually are in the 10's and 20's. He did have a fever today and was run down. I am hoping the second test comes back negative. Please pray for my son Christian. Thanks so much!

jillpaige - Hello. I am so very sorry to hear of your son and his trouble. That is definetly a very difficult illness and I hate to see anyone that ill. My dh's cousin has 2 children, a boy that is 15 and a girl that is 8 and they both have CF.
My heart goes out to you and your son and family during this difficult time in your lives. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Anne, RNC
I want to thank each and every one of you for your prayers. We got the results back on the second sweat test for cystic fibrosis at the other hospital and it came back negative! Dr. says no CF! The readings were 15 on one arm and 19 on the other. My son never had the pulmonary symptoms suggestive of CF, just the digestive ones. This second hospital uses the more reliable testing method, so I am comfortable with this. Thank you all so much. I am sooo relieved!!
