how many of you have already started studying for next semester?
i have to come clean! i have purchased most of my books. i would have purchased them all, but some are not in, yet. in dosage & calculations, i have completed all exercises through ch 4. in fundamentals, i have read the first 3 chapters and completed all definitions, study questions & outlines.
yes, i am a nerd!
should i be doing anything else? any hints, tips or advice?
At the moment I am not stuying, as I am helping my family get ready for Christmas. However as I have an exam in Jan I really should be studying, Its a research paper and I really don't get research.
I don't have any new modules next semester so I have done some prep. for them. I just drop research next semester and don't pick it back up till my final year!
I wish I had enough time to go back to being a proper nerd, but at the moment I am running around like a headless chicken:) I can't wait to get back to uni for a break:eek:
Got my pharmacology book $2 cheaper online, delivered to my door, than I could get a used one and drive about 45 minutes to the bookstore to get it (PLUS the bookstore would not hold a used copy for me until I could get there, so heck with 'em!)
Check Amazon guys!! Look up your books and then see if it has a "buy it used" button after it. I saved money!! I also found a book that was recommended by one of our nurses here, it's called Life Support. So far it's dynamite. It's not a text, but a book about nursing. It follows an oncology nurse, a home health nurse and I forget what the 3rd nurse does. Gives commentary (sp) on the shortage, etc. (Man, we need a spell checker here!!!)
Anyway, this is NOT and ADVERTISEMENT (Brandy ) but a helpful hint from a fellow broke student!
I've read the first couple of chapters so far. I've also been checking out the Veterinary Drug Handbook at the hospital. Yesterday I was reading up on Atropine and Epi. Can't hurt! I've got pharmacology on intercession too. We should start a new intercession thread!
Love ya guys,
Cheryl

Cheryl,
Is the author of the "Life Support" book Tess Gerritsen? I just went to Amazon.com, if that is the correct book the used is only .45. wow. Thanks, Marie
I've already read the first 6 chapters for my class that starts Wednesday. That's more out of self-defense, since it's a three week course and we're doing six hours of lecture a day. I'm guessing it's a chapter an hour like all the others have been. Easy stuff, though. Mostly history and background of nursing.

cyberkat, that is so cool what you have done already NEAT !
I don't start again until Jan. 14, have a few books but no syllabuses. Happy Holidays!

Guilty!
I have almost compleated the A&P II lab homework for the semester starting January 26th. I found that the homework in API, mostly consisting of a sort of "where's Waldo" type of fact finding in the manual and blurry, non-matching schematic fill-in-the-blanks format, was very time consuming and distracting me from valuble memorization time.
In a few days I'll start on the flash cards for lecture and hopefully have them completed by the start of semester so I can concentrate on Human Developement and Comp I and just have to memorize in Anatomy. It was the preparation of flashcards and the lab homework that seemed to be soooo time consuming last semester.
GO NERDS!

I refuse to study over the holidays!!! Actually, I didn't read my book much last semester (tests came from lectures). I did read over procedures before learning them in lab. We got a reading list before we got out for break in case we wanted to read, but I haven't even purchased books yet! I'M RELAXAPATING!!!!
