Any WA nurses out there who can explain Senator Maureen Walsh's diatribe about nurses in critical care access hospitals "playing cards a considerable amount of time?"
What was that about? https://www.wsna.org/news/2019/senator-states-that-nurses-probably-play-cards-for-a-considerable-amount-of-the-day-in-amending-rest-breaks-bill
If any WA nurses are playing cards on duty, please shape up. It makes us all look bad.
(that's a joke, btw).

Last night I watched the rest of that legislative session after the card-playing comment. Yes, a whole lot of people in that room should have just stopped talking. But no, they had to go and broadcast their complete cluelessness.

Spent 37 years working in the ER and was lucky to get a bathroom break some days. My "retirement job" was for the past 12 years working for the VA. Although the pace was definitely not as hectic as the ER, but there were many days I was lucky to get lunch. I have retired in January 31st and now can finally play cards.
I often find myself going for a quick pee. That quick pee usually takes at least five minutes if not more because I've been meaning to go for the last four hours

(Kiwi here I have no idea how much your senators earn)
Washington $42,106/year base salary $90/day per Diem when in session.
They must make their bread and butter elsewhere, that's pretty paltry compensation.

I work in a Washington Critical Access Hospital and I can assure this politician we DO NOT have time to play cards!! That would adversely effect out Bon Bon and knitting time.
