Places to get good backpacks

Published

I am starting nursing school at Gateway CC in October and I want to get a good backpack with wheels(probably a Jansport brand one)...does anyone know where a good place to get one is?? or have any backpack recommendations??

Any input would be fantastic:D

I purchased my Jansport rolling backpack at Mervyn's. I got it in black so that the scuffs and marks wouldn't show. I carried my laptop to class every day and a notebook, books and lunch (sometimes a sweater). It was great. In fact, it's still in such good shape that I am still using it for other purposes. Saved my back that's for sure!

I want to be able to hold my laptop, books, notebooks, supplies ect. and be able to lift it if I need to, roll it as well and at the same time have it last all through nursing school. This is the best one my husband and I have came across so far so I think when the time comes I'll probably go this route. Let me know what you decide and how it turns out for you. Good Luck!

Great to hear! I think I'll give it a try myself then since it worked out great for you!

Congrats! Are you going to LPN Fast Track? Is there a long waiting list?

This one looks a lot like the one I took through 2 years of nursing school and at least one year of pre-reqs. It's still going strong (for other travels now...)

ebags.com is a good website

i got my jansport in a discount luggage store and love it

its black and white flowers, wheels and held everything with a longer handle than most..i still use it at times 3 years later

didn't show dirt and was easy to pick out of a pile of them when taking a test and had to put all packs in the front of the room! good luck!

My LL Bean rolly backpack has gotten me through 2 years of pre-reqs, 2 years of a BSN program and still rollin'. The handle goes up and down and you can put it on your back. I think at the time it was $70, maybe you can get it through llbean.com?

i checked out the backpack from boomerfriend and mine was at the bottom in black and white plaid, only had the old hibiscus pattern, good luck................hopefully this is the hardest decision you have to make!

A friend of mine started NS this month at Gateway and was looking for a good backpack as well. We went to Mervyn's and checked out the Jansport similar to mine. They've redesigned it without an inner pocket and no padding. I toted my computer to class in that pocket and felt it was safe. She decided against it and found a rolling bag at JoAnn's. It's used to carry a sewing machine but it's perfect for what she needs. It's also on wheels and has padding and pockets. Has a tapestry pattern to it and was $40 on sale. Go figure.

I got mine at costco...its not a back pack but it is one of those crate with wheels....got it for $29.99 + tax.....works great for all my books and notebooks....pretty sturdy too.
