Pinning ceremony

Posted

We had our pinning last night and it was gorgeous! I cried like a big old baby. I just now realized, after 2 years with the same people, that I actually LIKE most of my fellow students, and that it's really a shame we didn't come together as a group more and get to know each other better. Just thought you guys might want to know that from a new grad. Seems like an awful big waste of time to spend 2 years with people you barely know. It would be a better use of time to get to know your fellow students and make some new friends!

SO, the pinning was great, the caps were much easier to put on than I ever would have imagined, and I really did look fat in a white nursing dress!

Congrats! We have our capping/pinning on January 7th and I'm so looking forward to that. It seems to be a beautiful ceremony as well...takes place in a church and I know I'm going to cry like a big baby that I am!!! My freshman class is a real close knit group...very supportive of each other and such. Just having passed the 1st semester after working our tails off I know it's going to be emotional for everyone. One thing I'm not looking forward to is wearing my student nurse dress. arrrggghhh. But it should be a lovely ceremony.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Congratulations, nurse!!!!!!:biggringi :balloons:

HI: I did not realize some nurses still get caps? Maybe it is different in each state. No one wears them here. anyway, congrats!

Congratulations!!!!!!! Best of luck to you in the future.

Remember Not to sign RN until you pass your Boards!!! You are either an GN or a GSN but not an RN.

Not trying to rain on the parade just lookin out we had a girl a couple of weeks ago that is now going before the board because she began signing RN after her Pinning she claimed it was an honest mistake because her pin said RN she beleived she could sign so and apparently her school supposedly never covered this with them.

Congradulations on your ceremony! I can only imagine how you must feel. Great accomplishment. Much success to you in your career as a nurse. What area are you going to work in? Did you get your #1 choice in Hospital to work at? I hate those hats. I'm so glad we don't have to wear them!!! :kiss
