  2. Hi. My daughter is in the ABSN program. I can’t speak about housing but the program is Mon-Fri. No classes or clinicals on the weekends (so far) and most students have 1-2 days off during the week. It varied last semester depending on when a student had simulation and clinical.
  3. I’ve read that Discover has a good student loan.
  4. FYI I just changed my screen name. That name was from over 10yrs ago lol. I just came back to these forums. I just didn't think I would truly love it however marketable it might seem. Plus, my BS is in Health Education so it just seemed like a better fit.
  5. I am also an Excelsior student, although I'm going extremely slow. I've taken 3 classes so far with too many breaks in btwn. My job does offer tuition reimbursement but I still have to pay out first which is hard. Last semester by the time I was ready to register and pay, all of the classes were full so yet another semester wasted I was originally under informatics but have since changed to Education.
  6. Oh wow! Which set do you usually get? The "regular scrubs"? Have you tried any other? I'm 5'3 too, how do you find the length to be?
  7. These are my favorite scrub pants. I know the above post is old, but thanks so much!

  9. Another lunch bag.
  10. Sooo, I guess it hasn't gotten better huh? LOL. :roll ETA: I'm still curious though as to what area you're working in that has iso. pts and 4 to a room? You can pm me if you like. BTW, I had edited that part about technology b/c I got it wrong. They are #1 in terms of Computer tech. Sorry about that. :)
  11. We go through this all the time and say the same thing. ETA: If we have an admit that comes up right before or at shift change, vitals are done and the admit is endorsed to the next shift. I do not stay over my time unless we are already in a code or some other emergency (or I have to finish up some charting).
  12. Wow! How horrible for you! Exactly where are you working in the hospital? I know that Maimonides has private Isolation rooms and most floors are two to a room unless you are working in the ICUs. It is a private hospital. I hope since your first post that things have gotten better.
  13. ucandoit, I sent you a private message. Also, I know that some hospitals, including Maimonides, allow you to shadow a nurse during a shift if you like. You can ask Nurse Recruitment about that.
