Hi everyone - just wanted to start a new thread for everyone admitted to the LA Pierce College Nursing Program for Fall 2014! Current student input would be helpful as well! :-)

Hey, congratulations! That lottery is brutal! You made it!!
Thanks so much!! Did you apply?
I did! But I have yet to hear anything from Pierce. I would totally be freaking out right now if I weren't already accepted into Moorpark, lol.
Oh wow! You were accepted to Moorpark? That's impressive! :-) I go to Moorpark as well. I applied also, but don't think I got in because I haven't heard anything haha
Thank you! I'm psyched and terrified all at the same time. What's first on your to do list? Orientation?
Oh I feel the same way! I'm so excited, but nervous because I want to do well! haha
I'm actually not sure yet, because they don't send out the information packet until June! What about you?
So far we've had a mini orientation giving a quick overview of the program; it covered admission documents (CPR class, criminal background + drug screening, immunizations, etc.), lists of books, financial aid, and classes that we must register for come July. Verification of admission docs are due tomorrow. I believe that both financial aid, and registering for classes are next on my list. I also need to RSVP to nursing boot camp (it's optional but there's no way I'm missing it). June, huh? They like to keep you waiting, don't they?! What are you going to do to celebrate your acceptance?
Oh wow, the nursing bootcamp sounds neat! Yes, June feels so far away because I am excited to start already haha. No celebrating, just happy to be in the program! You?

Hi! Can't wait to start classes! Has anyone heard from Pierce about the packets? I emailed the other day and haven't gotten a response. Just making sure I haven't accidentally deleted anything.

Congrats !!!
Can I ask how you guys did on your A&P & Micro grades ?
I already took all the Prereq's, but still thinking if i should do a LVN Program or The RN...
the thing that's stopping me is that I didn't do good on the Sciences, so if i apply into a RN Program at a Community College I feel like I'm going to be on a waiting list for awhile, specially i hear people say about 2years.
How long did it take you guys to get into the Program?
Any advice I would appreciate it, thanks.

I was accepted to Pierce and COC as well, I did well on all my core classes A's and B's and I scored an 83% on the TEAS (I studied the manual for a week, it varies for everyone, you just have to know how you learn best)
This was my first semester applying to the programs, I applied to 3 schools and got into 2 of them. :) Hope that helps
