Hi everyone - just wanted to start a new thread for everyone admitted to the LA Pierce College Nursing Program for Fall 2014! Current student input would be helpful as well! :-)

Hi classy boxer. I am starting my second semester this fall at LA mission college. I want to transfer into a four year college to get my bsn but I will also be applying to pierce just in case I don't get into a university. I hope that I will not be put in a waiting list. I was just wondering if you had any advice as to what not to do? For example do you have any regrets or do wish you would have done something different while doing your pre requisites or extra curriculums that could of looked better on your app? Or maybe something delayed your route into getting in the program?

Hey my advice is to do the best you can on your science pre reqs. If you are planning to go for your BSN right out of the gate you need to have a 4.0 or as close to it as possible. My only regret is not pursuing nursing earlier in my college career, but I'm still the youngest person in my class lol.

I haven't submitted anything. I'm slowly collecting it all so I can submit it together. Today I'm going to the health center to do the immunization stuff.

Make copies of all your paperwork and keep the extra set at home

Yeah, I just finished all my health requirements and I'm thinking of turning it in this week or on orientation day. Does anyone know what the 2x2 photos are all about? Is it like a headshot type picture of ourselves?

The 2x2 photo is used for your file at pierce. You can get them done at Costco for real cheap.
