PHSC 2015 Nursing Hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone!

I found one topic on this, but it wasn't very active, so I hope this one becomes a little more successful. My name is Jennifer, and I am applying for the January 2015 Nursing Program at PHSC. My home campus is Porter at Wiregrass Ranch. Are there any other 2015 hopefuls? I'd like to get to know you all! I am taking my TEAS next Tuesday and am so nervous. This will be my first time taking the TEAS. Have any of you taken it? How was it?

Any tips? I have finished all me pre-reqs and finished with a 3.6. Not too bad, wish I would have got higher! Hope I get in! Good luck to all you ladies!

Thanks!

However, they may have changed the # of admitted students since then.

Ya I wonder if they changed it or if the advisor misunderstood what she was told because I asked her specifically and she seemed like she had just recently been informed at a meeting or something... Weird... Who knows but everyone here seems to be in decent shape. I hope we all get in :)

What we found out, is that people who lived 5 min from porter had to drive to west and vice versa lol. Clinical site is not picked by location either, some people drove 50min+ for clinical sites.

Cookie I hope we all get in too! Thank you for the info, Mike! I live closest to the west campus but I don't mind driving to porter I would rather not drive to east though. However, as long as I get in, I will make the sacrifice to drive wherever I need to!

Yeah I have no idea it's probably just random. A friend of mine lives in my neighborhood got in last spring and got assigned to West in NPR! We live less than 10 min from Porter

Sorry guys, I haven't kept up with the list at all! I just started micro this summer and unsurprisingly, my free time has now dwindled down to nothing.

From what I understand, all of the names are listed by score and are then assigned from top to bottom. So if you're the number one applicant that lives 5 minutes from west campus, you'll get there because there are enough spots open. However, as you go lower on the list, the spots have been filled up so the next door neighbor of the top applicant might be sent to porter or east if all of the spots have been filled at west. Does that make sense?

Corey- as much as I hate to publicize my less than awesome score, I know it's helpful for others. :) I have a 72.6%, and applied for the transition program.

You're added! Sharing scores, both the good and the could be better is definitely helpful for everyone! This post as been rather...vacant this semester, so it'll be interesting to see how many applicants they actually get this time around.

Hi! I am new to this site but very excited to find it. I have applied to both Porter and East campus for fall 2015. I think my composite is 93.35 with a 4.0 GPA and 86.7 on the TEAS. I am a Pasco resident. It is nice to have company during the long wait for letters. Good luck to all:)

Hello! I graduated from the LPN program last year and I am now applying to the transition program. I am hoping to get into the West campus. I am a Pasco County resident, with a 3.7 GPA, and 84.6% on the TEAS, so that gives me the total 88.9% (if I did it right). Good luck to everybody!!

I'm new to this site... Hoping to meet new friends ! Well I have a composite all together of 63% not great, but does anyone know how they pick the students ? I will be applying for the transition program for North or West. How many seats per campus ?
