Hey everyone!
I found one topic on this, but it wasn't very active, so I hope this one becomes a little more successful. My name is Jennifer, and I am applying for the January 2015 Nursing Program at PHSC. My home campus is Porter at Wiregrass Ranch. Are there any other 2015 hopefuls? I'd like to get to know you all! I am taking my TEAS next Tuesday and am so nervous. This will be my first time taking the TEAS. Have any of you taken it? How was it?
Any tips? I have finished all me pre-reqs and finished with a 3.6. Not too bad, wish I would have got higher! Hope I get in! Good luck to all you ladies!
Thanks!

RN composite scoring formula:
The first steps is to take your pre-req GPA and multiply by 25 then multiply that by .45.
The second step is to divide your TEAS by 2.
The third step is to add 5 points if you are a Pasco or Hernando resident.
Add your scores and that is your composite.
Example:
GPA 4.0*25=100*.45=45
TEAS 80/2=40
Resident +5
45+40+5= would have an entrance score of 90 for the program
I don't know exactly how to generic program works, but I did the LPN program on west campus. The only time we had students from other campuses is if they had to repeat a class. For instance, we had two students transfer who had started their programs before ours but failed a class about halfway through, so they joined our campus at that point to finish the program. Hope this makes sense!
Hi to all,
I was told by advising that the prior date for Fall applications was June 1st but this would be the first time that the application deadline will be extended to June 15th. They extended the date to allow for high school seniors that took college courses to be able go apply to the program as well. This will allow for the dual enrolled students the chance to apply for entry as well. So a little more competition:) I looked back through the thread and it appears that the acceptance letters usually go out about 3 to 4 weeks after the deadline. Hopefully, we won't have to wait until the end of July...

For the generic program, I heard it was 24 seats per campus, or 72 total, but that could be wrong. As for switching between campuses, it does happen. West and Porter campuses stay where they are since they have everything the program needs, however, East campus doesn't have the capability to have the maternity related classes there, so east campus students will travel to either porter or west for those. As far as I'm aware, the other campuses stay on their campus and don't float around, since it would be completely counterproductive to float west campus students to east campus, which has fewer supplies.
The reason the admission's staff might think it's one program is that there is a single application for both west and east.
As for the cutoff, a guy in the program now told me it was in May last year. The applications were only accepted for about a month and he was very surprised when I told him ours were due by the fifteenth of June. To be fair though, classes are starting much later this year, almost a complete month later (Aug. 26th I believe), so that's why everything is kind of pushed back a little.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! This is all second hand info from students and professors!
P.S I turned my application in on the first day they were available online and I'm so tired of waiting that it feels like my brain is about to explode!
