Hey everyone!
I found one topic on this, but it wasn't very active, so I hope this one becomes a little more successful. My name is Jennifer, and I am applying for the January 2015 Nursing Program at PHSC. My home campus is Porter at Wiregrass Ranch. Are there any other 2015 hopefuls? I'd like to get to know you all! I am taking my TEAS next Tuesday and am so nervous. This will be my first time taking the TEAS. Have any of you taken it? How was it?
Any tips? I have finished all me pre-reqs and finished with a 3.6. Not too bad, wish I would have got higher! Hope I get in! Good luck to all you ladies!
Thanks!
Yeah I wish I knew! If anyone ever finds out hopefully they will post it here! Monday the real countdown begins! Personally I think we will get our letters by mid July (based on the past two classes threads), they seem to have gotten theirs about 4 weeks from the deadline. Hopefully the pushed back deadline this semester doesn't cause too much a delay in our letters!
As of Wednesday there were 55 applications for the transition... The lady at West said so far 7 people are going to be denied bc there are not enough seats She said 12 seats for West and 36 for North and they are picking the top 38 scores and then will fill the remaining. Applications turned in after Thursday will not be accounted for until Wednesday of next week. I have yet to turn in my application due to my not so great composite score of 64.5% but will turn it in on Monday and remain hopeful !!
Hi all. I'm a fall hopeful for the PHSC Generic RN program and thought I'd add my TEAS and GPA scores to the list already started. Pre-req GPA is ok at 4.0, but TEAS is pretty low (I think) at 77.3. Wish I had timed it better so I could repeat the TEAS prior to submitting my application but that's where I'm at. Praying it's good enough. As for the above "getting to know you" questions: 1. Generic RN (Porter and East/West campuses). 2. 39. 3. Hospice Care. 4. 2 kids, 1 dog, husband. 5. The Blacklist.
Anxiously awaiting acceptance/denial letter and wish everyone applying the best of luck!!
1. Which program did you apply for? RN generic
2. Age? I am the old woman of the group at 50. Just decided that I always wanted to be a nurse and if I am ever going to realize my dream, now is the time!
3. Specialty you hope to eventually work in? I would love to work in labor and delivery
4. Any kids? 2 girls who are both RN's. Once is actually a graduate of this program. Also a wonderful two year old grandson who is the light my life! Pets? No pets. We lost our family dog three years ago and am still not over it and can't imagine going thru that again... Significant other? Yes, married for 31 years.
5. Favorite TV show? I am ashamed to admit that I am a reality show junkie. I love all the Real Housewives and almost anything reality!
I just calculated my composite score using the formula posted on here and if I did it right, my score should be 88.65. Getting a little worried though because I've heard that acceptance is not necessarily determined by just those scores (Pre-req GPA, TEAS, and residency). Tried asking an advisor about the formula and she said she couldn't tell me one way or the other if they have one or not, or even how they determined who got accepted/denied. Wish there was a way to find out for sure.
