PHCC Spring 2014 hopefuls

Published

Hey guys just wondering who is applying for January. Deadlines are in a few weeks and no one had started a thread yet. I am applying for RN and LPN hoping to get in this time around.

I was also very surprised that I got in with my 74! The key is too stay positive I was my own worst enemy. I already have my physical, tb, and vaccinations up to date since I work at a hospital however the take care clinic and minute clinics at walgreens and cvs have decent prices if you dont have insurance. Now I just need to figure out how to make the schedule work having a 4 year old :o

Jettak09 I know how you feel! I have three boys ages 3,5, and 6. I still don't know exactly how I'm going to work out my school schedule as well as theirs I just knew I couldn't postpone school any longer. Best of luck to you I'm sure everything will work out :)

Our letters are due by the 30th of Oct. I am mailing all of mine out today, so there will be 2 LPN position openings as soon as they get it. I am accepting the RN. Another position will open in LPN because my fiance is taking the RN spot as well. We both have had our physical and titers done, I had to get a few shots :( We both are already CPR certified too. Not sure if there is anything else we need done. Guess we'll find out on Nov. 22 (: Good luck to everyone who has not gotten their mail yet. Don't think you haven't got in. We live at different houses and I got my letter Wednesday, he felt bad and thought he didn't get in. He received his letter of acceptance yesterday (Thursday).

He had a 3.8 and a 68 on TEAS. I had 4.0 and 72 on TEAS

I noticed that too. Hopefully they will mail a letter out stating where to go.

I have my CPR certificate. Any suggestions where to get the physical & vaccinations & how much does it cost?

Do we need to have insurance?

Anyone need to take cpr? I saw there is one i think nov 6th,11th, and december 5th at west campus.

Would you happen to know if there is a certain type of CPR class we need to take. I saw a description of the one PHCC offers, what is the cost to take it, do you have to take the one offered by them?

You can take it else where but it has to be by the American heart association and not the Red Cross. I believe the school charges 40 or 44. I'm assuming we need it by January but I really don't know. It is called BLS for health providers.

Hi everyone! I was accepted to the RN program. For those of you who stated which campus... did it state that on your acceptance letter? Because it did not say on mine, but I was just assuming they went by your address and which one you are closest to. I am closest to Porter and I think it is going to be really awesome to go to a brand new campus! :-) Please let me know if anyone knows for sure. Thanks! And congrats to all of you! I am super surprised and excited. Cant wait to get my information packet and get started! :-)

Anyone assigned to porter campus? I got a letter and it states the clinical and class days ( wed class and Thursday/fri clinicals) but on a separate page it says we have a slightly different schedule for the first 4 weeks tues, thur fri class and lab? A, I reading or understanding this correctly? So first 4 weeks will be that schedule and then it will change? I am confused, can anyone clarify?

I haven't received anything since my acceptance so I'm not sure but I was accepted to porter for lpn.

Where did it say what campus you were assigned to? I recieved the information packet yesterday but it didnt say where I was assigned to (unless i am not seeing it). Also can anyone clarify how the Pell Grant is going to work? I am a single mom and will be using that to pay for classes. However the information packet stated that we would register and pay for classes at orientation? In previous semesters the grant does not process until classes start in January. I am obviously going to go into financial aid but was hoping someone had some insight before I am able to make it in to talk to someone.

Pay for classes at orientation? I have a Florida prepaid account and I always have to go to the business office to pay so I'm not sure how that's going to work for me ether.
