  1. Diana you wont have any side effects except maybe soreness at the injection site. The flu shot has come along way the last couple years. Now it is a dead virus they inject you with. However at my job we tell patients that they might have flu like symptoms for 24 hours. I didnt have any the only thing I noticed was extreme fatigue until the next morning, so I recommend getting the flu shot at the end of your day.
  2. Where did it say what campus you were assigned to? I recieved the information packet yesterday but it didnt say where I was assigned to (unless i am not seeing it). Also can anyone clarify how the Pell Grant is going to work? I am a single mom and will be using that to pay for classes. However the information packet stated that we would register and pay for classes at orientation? In previous semesters the grant does not process until classes start in January. I am obviously going to go into financial aid but was hoping someone had some insight before I am able to make it in to talk to someone.
  3. I was also very surprised that I got in with my 74! The key is too stay positive I was my own worst enemy. I already have my physical, tb, and vaccinations up to date since I work at a hospital however the take care clinic and minute clinics at walgreens and cvs have decent prices if you dont have insurance. Now I just need to figure out how to make the schedule work having a 4 year old
  4. I got my acceptance letter today!!!!!!! I was not expecting it either! I applied to both programs and was accepted to both :) I am so happy finally feel like my foot is in the door and I can get working on this chapter of my life. I will be taking the RN seat so there will be a LPN spot available. My LPN spot would have been for Porter Campus but the RN spot doesn't specify which campus.....does yours Stephanie? If anyone in RN wants to stay connected and exchange info etc. my email is [email protected] just send me a message. Good luck everyone and stay positive.
  5. Omg I'm so nervous. I am terrified that my 74 on my Teas is going to ruin my future. I do not want to take that brutal test ever again! Good luck everyone ! If you receive a letter post!
  6. Does anyone know what the schedules are like are like for both the LPN and RN program? Would be have class 5 days?
  7. Omg those stats freaked me out lol! I really hope they did not have over 200 applicants this time around. What if the remaining 158+ applicants from last semester apply for Spring 2014. I received my confirmation letter yesterday, cannot believe if this is true that we will know our fate in only 2 weeks!!!
  8. There is a formula (gpa/4.0)x45%+(teas score)x 50% and you can add 5% if your a resident. Your overall gpa is only used to break a tie. so I just did mine ended up with 81 total points. They put all the stats into a computer and that's how the seats get chosen. I was told this by a handful of nurses that work with me that got their rn from phcc. But, as far as how many "points" we need, I have no idea! All depends on how many apps they got. So surfergirl4110 with your 4.0 your definitely competitive.
  9. Hi manr23! Mind sharing your scores? I really hope I get some kind of notice before November.
  10. Hello everyone! I applied to both the PHCC LPN and RN programs for Spring 2014. I am really nervous I applied on September 13th with a 3.6 GPA and a 74 composite Teas score. I am really hoping to get an RN acceptance letter but worried my Teas is too low . I am also a Hernando resident. Hopefully all of you are right and they don't have as many applicants this year. The previous year streams have many comments but not many on allnurses for spring 2014. Does anyone have any idea what the schedules are like? Is it 3 or 4 days? Times? Things like that. I am beyond ready to start this chapter of my life! I wonder when the letters go out. Good luck everyone
