Hey guys just wondering who is applying for January. Deadlines are in a few weeks and no one had started a thread yet. I am applying for RN and LPN hoping to get in this time around.
Heydanixo,
I did. I talked to the financial today and they confirmed since I have the grant approved for 2013/2014, the portion of the money for Spring is just sitting there waiting, therefore I do not have to do anything and it's gonna be paid automatically after orientation day. In addition to that I can register for co-req. classes separately on WISE which will also be paid with that money.
Did anybody ever use financial aid for summer?
I took all pre-reqs of RN, 5 classes, this summer and since I registered just early May, had no chance & paid out of pocket, approx. $2500 (classes incl. books).
Today I wanted to know what I have to do for the financial aid for next summer, but I was informed there will be no grant for summer anymore, only student loan. They only have a plan that students can pay 50% in May and another 50% end of June, but you have to apply online & pay $40 to get that.
So from now on, no grant for summers!!! I have classmates who tell me they got grant for the summer last year!
Bummer, I am probably just going to leave my son where he is, he's 3 so not quite so young but I pay a lot for him to go there! On another note, is anyone going to work as a CNA before or during school? I am looking for jobs, there seem to be a ton of them, but you have to get certified, which I plan on doing...home health maybe sounds like a good option for people that are really busy and need flexibility.
So far I have looked at a couple daycares Primrose seems pretty good and Discovery point .....They are expensive but you get what you pay for and I would pay anything just to make sure he is safe.....As for employment when I was on west campus the other day I saw a brochure from visiting angels seems their looking for people I'm thinking about applying
I take my son to Kids R kids on Collier, my older daughter went there as well and they are very good with all ages if you are still looking. They are about the same price as Primrose and people there are very nice and really know each and every one of their kids. Just a recommendation if you want...thanks for the invite, I actually didn't notice it until today, I heard about visiting angels, they are hiring according to craigslist. I am looking into a few others as well, senior helpers and granny nannies but have to be a CNA for those I believe.
