PHCC Spring 2014 hopefuls

Hey guys just wondering who is applying for January. Deadlines are in a few weeks and no one had started a thread yet. I am applying for RN and LPN hoping to get in this time around.

I think I was looking up some info for CNA and im not sure but I think you have to take an exam and if you pass you get the CNA cert.....I'm not too sure though.....on another note I finally handed in my paperwork this week....Did everyone meet their deadline?

Not me, took them over a week to get my packet to me. Had my physical last Thursday and did my labs the next day. When i went yesterday to the doctors they still did not have my titers back. Hopefully i can get everything in by Tuesday :(

I got some info on cna. I have a friend and she gave me some study materials. Apparently you can "challenge" the exam and just be prepared for the 2 parts. There is a written portion and a skills portion. Doesn't seem entirely crazy to do on your own. I have been watching some good utube videos and plan on just doing it. Cost is $93, but that price changes in January, $140ish. I can give you the links to utile if you're interested. I just got all my paperwork turned in today. I thought I had it done last week, but they then told me I needed some better "proof" of some of my shots. I am so relieved that is over and looking forward to meeting you all next week!

Thanks for info Prospect I am debating whether or not I should tackle the CNA test during these busy holiday months I am tempted though....lol ....I look forward to seeing you all on Friday :geek:

Hope to have my papers in tomorrow. Seems like going with a new doctor was a mistake. Can't wait to see all the lpns Friday afternoon!

Anyone purchased the uniform? I tried on pants and they are not only ugly but uncomfortable. You think it would be a big deal to get some other white pants that are more comfortable and less ugly??

Anyone been looking at stethoscopes? I'm really interested in the littmann classic ii. Allheart.com has the cutest colors and finishes if your into that, may help with the ugly uniform lol. Prospect28, were the pants true to size?

I got a steth online on Cyber Monday on Medisave.net. I go the Littmann Classic, it was discounted and got free shipping and engraving. They also have a good selection of colors. Heydanixo, the pants look like MC hammer pants. They are baggy and have a big elastic waistband that digs into your skin. My friend who is currently in her 2nd year at PHCC says she never brought and no one has ever said anything to her about it. I think I may do the same.

I ordered from the books store yesterday morning the first semester and 1 pair of pants. It was so awesome they actually had a student deliver it to me that afternoon instead of shipping it. I got a 2x in the pants because I didn't see a 1x. Wooo big mistake lol guess il be returning them and il have to try them on in the store.

Yikes! I've not gotten my uniforms yet, I have been waiting so I can use loan money. I hope I haven't screwed myself :-/
