U.S.A. Florida

I want to meet some of you! I'm just getting ready to take my last 3 finals, have been studying for the TEAS for months now, and will be able to apply for next fall's nursing program (YAYAY!) I'd love to hear from some potential future classmates, how you are doing/ did with pre-reqs/ TEAS, and share the excitement upon acceptances!

PHSC doesn't penalize for retakes that I know of. Larger schools, though, like USF will--in fact, if they see that you've retaken a class, I don't know if they will even touch your application! I would definitely check in with another adviser, though. It seems like no two advisers will ever tell you the same thing!

About your app packet, I about had an anxiety attack rechecking through mine a dozen plus times before sealing the envelope! There really aren't a lot of physical papers that need to be included so long as you are 100% sure that PHSC already has them in your file. I actually called to verify all of the items I wasn't including in my application were already in my file at the school just for some peace of mind! :) I want to say that the only physical items included in my packet were the checklist, the application, my enlarged driver's license photocopy, and then my TEAS scores.

I've definitely gotten mixed responses from advisors when I have inquired...weird.

Aren't there 24 seats at 3 different campuses? Which would mean there are 72 seats total? Does anyone know how many applicants there were last fall and what the average GPA and TEAS score was?

I was told last fall when I first spoke with an adviser that fall semester brings 200+ applicants. I was told that the average GPA was 3.6 and TEAS score 67 for whichever year was before that (2012?). Regardless, I'd shoot for as high as possible!

All I know is for the Porter Campus. Their first RN class was Spring 2014 and their GPA range was from 3.15 - 4.0 with TEAS scores ranging from 66 - 89.3. As for the Fall, I'm sure there will be more applicants especially as the campus gets on it's feet. This will be Porter's first Fall RN semester, so we will be the statistics when accepted. :)

hi theAwife could i have your flash card for the teas test if you still have it

Is anybody applying for the RN bridge program?

nurses20, unfortunately I've already passed them along! I do have a "study guide" of concepts that I made sure I knew and based my flashcards on. I can definitely e-mail it to you if you'd like!

So, I'm going to take the TEAS tomorrow and turn in my application. I'm really terrified about the TEAS. I just don't feel prepared for it even though I have been studying a little each day. I hope there aren't too many chemistry questions because...I HATE chemistry and no matter how hard I try, it does.not.click.

I keep thinking I'm going to fail this darn test :(

I've taken 3 practice tests so far and only scored a 71, 72, and 76.

How did everyone else to on the TEAS? Do you mind sharing your scores?

I passed...woohoo! I got an 82 - thank god! I turned in my application and they said they should be mailing out letters by mid to late June.

Good Luck everyone!

Awesome! You should have no issues getting in with that score...congrats!!! :)

Thank you! I hope I dont have an issue getting in...I know there a lot of applicants vs the number of seats available so who knows..

I hate that we have to wait a month or more to find out...argh.

Are you taking any classes over the summer?

I just started A&P II with lab and life span.

I certainly hope you don't have the same professor as I did for Lifespan...she was a nightmare! I'm taking statistics, comp I, and ethics.
