PHCC Fall 2014 hopefuls!

I want to meet some of you! I'm just getting ready to take my last 3 finals, have been studying for the TEAS for months now, and will be able to apply for next fall's nursing program (YAYAY!) I'd love to hear from some potential future classmates, how you are doing/ did with pre-reqs/ TEAS, and share the excitement upon acceptances!

Hi, I'm actually studying for the Teas now, will be taking it soon. I pray I get into the program Fall 2014 as well. Did you take the Teas yet?

I haven't yet, so let me know how it goes for you! I'm so nervous for it!

You will do good ! Let's stay positive !! Well, that's what I keep telling myself Lol....but my nerves are tearing me apart ! Lol

I'm sure you will as well! Which is your home campus? Speaking of nerves, I've got finals this weekend for A&P + L! If I don't get an A on my lab final it will drop my grade down to a B and destroy my 4.0 (nothing like a little pressure)! To say I'm freaking out would be an understatement! Lol

And unfortunately I'm not allowed to private message yet on this site since I apparently don't have enough posts. However, I'll be finished with my prereqs this weekend--just took my Psych final Sunday and I have my last 2 Saturday. Have you? If not, let me know--I have the Nutrition and Psych books, and they are just collecting dust lying around! :)

I am also looking to apply for the RN program that starts fall 2014. I just completed nutrition and micro apps. I will be starting A&P I and Psych in spring. I have recently went to a private school in Tampa for nursing I got it 3/4 through the program and failed a class by 2 points SO i have decided to start over at a better program with much better accreditation. I took the TEAS 2 years ago only scoring a 67 but that was before i did ANY schooling. PHCC doesn't accept any of the 13 classes I took so I will be repeating everything. The benefit with this is I get to relearn a lot of stuff i missed in the private school. I am very excited to apply yet extremely nervous with competition, so far though my GPA is a 4.0 and im hoping all my schooling up till now will help with my TEAS score. A friend of mine got into the Fall 2013 program with a GPA of 4.0 and TEAS 80%. Good luck and maybe ill see someone in A&P I this Spring at the West Campus :)

I'm applying for both programs as well ADN and LPN hopefully, I can get into the

I hope I can get into the RN program. When are you taking the Teas?

I plan on taking the TEAS in April close to the end of the semester.

Well, I just received my final grades, and I managed to hang onto my 4.0 even through A and P torture! So ecstatic! I'm planning on taking the TEAS mid February so that I'll have time to retake if necessary prior to when applications are being accepted for fall term.

Also, daiquirin, I have the Psych book if you don't already have it!

Hi everybody,

Since I have been through all this and got into RN for Spring 2014 & I know you're nervous, I thought it might help to share some info with you.

I moved to US less than 2 years ago and decided to go to college in April 2013 and took all 5 pre-reqs. for this summer, was a lot of work and driving (2 days at north campus & 2 days at west & I live by spring hill!!!) but I made it with gpa of 4.0.

I took the TEAS for the first (and last) time and scored 76% and applied for RN only for Spring and got in.

Until now there were only 48 seats for RN but from now on there will be approx. 70 since Portal campus came online which doubles your chance of getting in.

One of my friends had a gpa of 3.4 and TEAS score of 65 and got in for Spring, So relax and don't get nervous, you all will do good.

I thought sharing this might help some of you calm down!!!

By the way I have some books I do not need anymore (micro apps, nutrition, life span, psychology, chemistry & chemistry lab), I bought them new and they are in excellent condition.

Chemistry & the Lab is not required for RN, I am working on my AA at the same time which is needed if you want to get your BSN (after RN) shortly after RN. Once you finish RN & have done your AA, the BSN courses would be all online and could be done within 2 semester.

Good luck everyone!
