PHCC Fall 2014 hopefuls!

U.S.A. Florida

I want to meet some of you! I'm just getting ready to take my last 3 finals, have been studying for the TEAS for months now, and will be able to apply for next fall's nursing program (YAYAY!) I'd love to hear from some potential future classmates, how you are doing/ did with pre-reqs/ TEAS, and share the excitement upon acceptances!

Hi everybody,

Since I have been through all this and got into RN for Spring 2014 & I know you're nervous, I thought it might help to share some info with you.

I moved to US less than 2 years ago and decided to go to college in April 2013 and took all 5 pre-reqs. for this summer, was a lot of work and driving (2 days at north campus & 2 days at west & I live by spring hill!!!) but I made it with gpa of 4.0.

I took the TEAS for the first (and last) time and scored 76% and applied for RN only for Spring and got in.

Until now there were only 48 seats for RN but from now on there will be approx. 70 since Portal campus came online which doubles your chance of getting in.

One of my friends had a gpa of 3.4 and TEAS score of 65 and got in for Spring, So relax and don't get nervous, you all will do good.

I thought sharing this might help some of you calm down!!!

By the way I have some books I do not need anymore (micro apps, nutrition, life span, psychology, chemistry & chemistry lab), I bought them new and they are in excellent condition.

Chemistry & the Lab is not required for RN, I am working on my AA at the same time which is needed if you want to get your BSN (after RN) shortly after RN. Once you finish RN & have done your AA, the BSN courses would be all online and could be done within 2 semester.

Good luck everyone!

TheAFwife I would love the psych books and I'm looking for the a&p one & lab books as well! Idk know how to contact you personally through here though! Hope everyone is enjoying the winter break and thanks for the last post that really helps to know all TEAS scores don't need to be in the 90s I'm still pretty nervous for A&P though because I'd like to hold an over all 4.0 but one week in April I will be on my honeymoon and very nervous how that will effect my overall grade! So nice to communicate with students through here really helps with anticipation lol

I don't have any books yet for Spring I would love to borrow them!

Mia83- I got ur message but I'm not am established member so I can't reply through messages so in response to your email- Who is your A&P I teacher? I'm taking psych and ethics online. Plan to take it mid April I am getting married April 4th so between school and planning I won't have time to study fully and focus to take it any earlier.

Thankyou so much @Nushca!! That was very helpful information! Congrats to you and keep up the great work. I am interested in the lifespan and development book if you still have it .

Hey Mia I tried replying to your message but it says your inbox is full. So here you go:

Awe thanks so much! Which campus are you at? What were your teas scores ??
I was accepted to porter but a seat opened up for west campus so that's where I'll be. My tease was actually a 66 lol took it 3 times but I'm just not a test taker. I will say tho study that teas book because everything in that book will be on the test. Sometimes it looked like the exact equation just a few different details!(:

Did you apply for the RN too? Thanks for the advice for the teas! I have been studying alot.

Yea I applied to both because you never know. But I was prepared to just do the lpn first.

Hi Mia83,

Thank you.

I do have the life span book which I bought new and basically didn't use it. If you're still interested please email me at [email protected] and we'll take it from there.

Good luck.

Nushca I'm interested in your psych book if you still have that one?

daiquirin,

Yes, I still have that, you can contact me by email [email protected] & we can arrange for that.

I am applying for the Fall term 2014 at PHCC. I am currently taking the A&P with the lab. Hope I get in. Good luck to everyone.
