Do nursing monitoring programs do PEth testing, which is a blood test done to monitor the use of alcohol? Curious if there are any nurses in monitoring programs who are currently taking these tests in their random drug testing.

No..I never had any problems while in the program. I called my cm when selected and was told the NCBON can test hair, blood, or urine at any time. I do not know why I was selected for the hair test. I was about a month before completing my probation.
I have been in the program for about 3 years and have 15 months left. I am in the program for a DUI in Pa. I have only had urine tests so far but was told it could be urine, blood or hair follicle testing. I did submit a hair test last year for some court /custody issues with my kids from the same lab I get my urines done . I have strictly adhered to the program of abstinence from all drugs of any kind (I never had a drug problem) and of course ETOH. I would advise anyone and everyone to do same if they want to complete the program . Hair tests can test for alcohol and do go further back in time as opposed to urine or even blood tests.I was told by my lab that hair follicle testing is the most conclusive for drugs and alcohol and in some cases can go back for a few years in time .
I know this is an older post, but would 1 drink 12 days ago show up on a PETH test? I am also very active as in cardio and the gym for 2 hours a days everyday. I am not the greatest water drinker, but the last 2 days I have been drinking liters of water and took some detoxify pills. I don't even know if that helps. I was also thinking of donating blood.. I don't even know if that would make a difference
