  1. Absolutely not true.. Any UDS while holding a nursing license is reportable. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses
  2. Wtg :-) Sent from my iPhone using allnurses
  3. I was hired in LTC. My license was surrendered for over a year. It was the first job I applied for after being reinstated on probation. I knew someone who worked there. I finished my 1 year probation and now have been there almost 2 years. I did not have narcotic restrictions. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses
  4. When I was testing I did not have too during vacation. I was however provided with several locations in that area in case I was chosen to test. Sent from my iPhone using allnurses
  5. Good choice. I lost my license for a period of time for smoking pot. Such a little thing changed my life entirely for many years.
  6. I was lucky. I knew someone who got me in at the job. I haven't tried to apply anywhere else. I've been at my current job 16 months
  7. I had a similar situation. I had a bad break up and smoked one joint one weekend with a friend. I was not addicted to any substance. Made a mistake at work which lead to a UDS. It came back positive. I was fired and reported to the BON. I was given three options. Go to rehab and join that program, surrender my license for no less then a year, or be investigated. I choose to surrender. After a year where I lost everything I had a reinstatement meeting with the board where I was placed on probation. Quickly started working while being tested randomly and my manager had to fill out paperwork every three months on how I was doing. I finally finished probation 13 months later. My license now has discipline listed for now on.
  8. I agree you owe her nothing.
  9. It's a waiting game at this point. Good luck.
  10. Just depends.. I found a job right away.. Others search for a long time..
  11. I agree with Oogie. Good luck to you. We are here if u need us.
  12. This forum has been very helpful to me. I lurk a lot but visit daily. I'm now done with the monitoring but I still come here everyday. There are lots of understanding and wonderful nurses here who share lots of things in common including addiction, recovery, and dealing with the BON.
  13. Awesome .. Congrats.. Let's take it one day at a time :)
