Can you test while on vaca?

Well what I was hoping to know I guess was if my number comes up while I'm in Hawaii, can I just test there? I will ask once I settle with BON just curious if anyone had done it like that before. Thanks

Can you test while on vaca?

Thank you. I don't have a case manager yet as I haven't settled with the Missouri BON but I'm hoping it won't be an issue.

Why does the VA draw blood?

Ok, I feel the need to give more information after reading some of the responses. I have not had my blood drawn yet as my job is contingent on getting through all the red tape that is necessary to work for the federal gov't, so no consents signed yet. I also keep copies of everything, so I have very updated results of titers so they said they wouldn't need to have them done again. HR still said there would be a blood draw, EKG, and physical. I just haven't had such an in depth physical to work in the hospital so I was just curious. I did think that they might draw blood for drug testing but that doesn't make much sense since everything else they are doing is so thorough. Drugs (both illicit and prescription) stay in the blood for very short periods of time but in the urine for a very long time, either way it doesn't matter, I'm not concerned about it, like I said just curious. I was so excited about hearing that I had the job if all went well with the federal background check that when they asked if I had any questions, my mind went blank. Thanks for all the responses.

Why does the VA draw blood?

I have never had blood drawn for employment before, does anyone know why the VA draws blood as part of pre-employment?

    New Grad ADN KC

All HCA hospitals hire ADN's, St. Lukes does as well. The only one's I know that will not hire ADN's any longer are Truman and KU. The Carondelet's will hire ADN's if they think you are a good fit but will pick a BSN before an ADN 9 out of 10 times, if you worked for them before you graduated they will hire you if you were a good employee (also keep in mind that they were just bought by HCA, so that will likely change as well). Children's Mercy will hire ADN's but they have recently started to prefer BSN's as well. Good Luck!

tell me about your most embarrassing job interview!

I had just quit smoking the day before and my head wasn't quite right, a little head in the clouds feeling and couldn't quite think out any good answers for the interviewers. Long story short, at the end of the interview they asked if I would come in for a on the job interview that they liked to do for those people who didn't interview well in the office. I didn't end up going and had a cigarette after I left.

When you review your your Kaplan tests, jot down the stuff you didn't know anything about and go back to the kaplan course book and read a little about it. Good luck

NCLEX tomorrow, I feel like I'm going to get sick!

Our kaplan instructor told us that SATA questions are well above the passing line, so yes, I took that as a good sign. The test is designed just like Kaplan imo but the SATA are easier on NCLEX. Don't second guess yourself and don't worry about cramming in a bunch of content, practice the kaplan questions and get your average up to above 60 and you should do great!
