  1. Just curious, did you have times you forgot to call or log in to the system, or chose the wrong option that may have prompted a hair test...

  3. Thanks for the info. One last question, do you know if that type of test picks up hand sanitizer like the etg test does?
  4. Wow... didn't realize they did that. Couple of questions... Is that something they do for everyone as they close in on the end of the program? How were you selected? Was it thru the normal test notification system that you have to check daily?
  5. Why did they give you a hair test? Did you do something wrong or get in trouble?
  6. For what reasons do they do a hair or blood test?
  7. Do nursing monitoring programs do PEth testing, which is a blood test done to monitor the use of alcohol? Curious if there are any nurses in monitoring programs who are currently taking these tests in their random drug testing.
  8. Not positive, but I believe that Option 1 is the full medical professional panel plus ethanol. You can go the Quest Diagnostics website or use Goole to look up what is included in the medical professional panel. There are 12 drug categories tested for in that. To my understanding, Option 1 does not include EtG testing. I think Option 2 is the EtG with creatinine test. This is based on my own personal research into what is being tested for, and not factual information. Quest nor the board will tell you what is included in the testing options. The old LabCorp COC's which were used until this past January had the test numbers beside the options, and you could look up what was being tested. Unforunately, that's not the case with Quest. I'm not sure what Option 4 is. I've only gotten Option 1 and Option 2 when I have been selected, and I've tested for several years. Think back to what you told the board were your drugs of choice, and that may be what Option 4 is testing for if it's not included in the basic 12 panel plus ethanol test (medical professional panel).
  9. Yes, you are "directly observed." When I test, I am closely observed. I tested for 18 months prior to having to be observed and it wasn't bad at all. Now, it is a true dread on days I am selected. I also have a shy bladder and it is very difficult for me to use the restroom with other's watching. I even have problems in public restrooms. However, it must be done and humility has to be dropped at the door. Luckily, I usually use the same place each time for testing and the same person always observes. That, for me, is a little more comfortable and it seems to be a little easier that way.
  10. Thanks for the information. You are the first person I've found that has information specific to NC. I'm also curious about holiday testing. Have you ever been given a test on a holiday, like Memorial Day, July 4th or Labor Day. I live in a small area and most places that are a reasonable drive for me are closed on holidays. I'm trying to plan ahead in the event I have to test on a day like that.
  11. question for packfan007, how often does option 2 usually come up? is it only periodic or something that occurs on a regular basis? just curious. i've never had that option while i've been testing.
  12. Does anyone know what Option 1 on the Quest Diagnostics chain of custody form tests for. Third party administrator is First Lab for the NC BON. Just curious if it includes the infamous "etg" test. There aren't any numbers beside the options on the Quest Diagnostics COC forms like there are on the Lab Corp COC forms, which is the testing compay the NC BON used until this past January when they switched to Quest. I know that Option 1 on the Lab Corp COC didn't include "etg"... but not sure about Quest since there aren't any test codes. Kinda figure they'd be testing for the same thing, but you never know...
  13. Does anyone know if the North Carolina BON use etg testing in there monitoring programs?
