what are these people thinking???

Ok. I brought myself a can of diet coke to work today. I knew my day would be messed up because I worked a couple hrs off a couple hrs took a kid to the doc then back on an hr. I came back in in the afternoon and finally sat down to finish my charting and I look beside the computer and sitting there on the counter was an opened Diet Coke. I lifted it up and it was almost full - but the most interesting part is that the can also has an X in black marker written on the can -- THe same X that I had drawn on my can when I put it in the fridge. Someone had helped themselves to my can of DIET COKE!

I immediately said to the nurse I was with "Well someone liked my diet coke just as much as I do since my can is here and opened" I then proceeded to get the can of pop, walk over to the sick and dump THE WHOLE CAN OF POP down the sink. If I can't have my pop, then NOONE is going to drink my diet coke!

Why are there some jerks who think they can help them selves to other peoples food/drinks in the break room fridge? KEEP YOU MITTS OFF OF MY FOOD AND DRINK!!! Sorry for the vent. I was steaming!:angryfire An act like this shows that a person has NO reguard or respect for their coworkers. Ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh I can so relate.

I had a problem a while back with food disappearing out of my LOCKER. I had a huge bag of Lindt truffles in there, was off for 4 days, came back, and there were five left in the bag.

Um, keep your mitts off my chocolate and stay the frig out of my locker. Thanks.

Grrr. Jerks.

Some people would take it anyway, even with a label.

Thats the pits! Then it's theft, not even a mistake!.I agree, label up some really disgusting mixtures, and see if these lowlifes like that!

I very seldom bring anything and leave it in the staff frig. Had a coworker who loves flavored creamer with her coffee. She bought the deluxe sized bottle of creamer, put her name on it and the date and puposely put it at the way back of the frig. She was off for a few days and not only had someone or someones used the creamer, they, he or she used the whole bottle and then had the nerve to return the empty bottle back to her special spot in the frig. What the??????

This is what I'd tell them when I caught them----

I have some gross stories, absolutely no gag reflex, and a cast iron stomach. I hope you are enjoying that food you stole from me. And I could start with what I saw in......... :barf01:

absolutely! my friend had 2 small cartons of skim milk in the breakroom community fridge with her name written all over them with a black marker, first and last, mind you. one of the attendings walked in there, took one of the cartons (with 2 people in there watching her) and promptly opened it and poured most of it into her coffee. just verifies the amount of respect she has for the staff nurses.

another girl i knew put her flavored coffee creamer in a baby bottle and kept it in a cooler bag with her breastmilk (she was a new mommy just back to work and still pumping). should've seen the looks on peoples' faces when she made her coffee!:D

Whenever we have food for all the staff during the day/evening shift for one special reason or another, we had always put food in the frig in the breakroom for the night shift. We stopped doing that after one morning we came to work to find that someone on nocs had used their hand to scoop mashed potatoes out of the large steamer pan.... gross. Now, we just order pizza to be delivered for nocs.

Someone kept eating my lunch at work, so one night another coworker and I ordered a pizza and left a few slices in the breakroom in the box labeled with our names....after licking each remaining slice in the box. Came back 3 hours later and every piece was gone.

I would probably make a sandwich with a lot of habenero peppers since I can always take them out before I eat it. (Those peppers are hot enough to peel a layer of skin off the tongue) The person running for the water cooler with tears streaming down their cheeks would be the lunch vulture.

If they have a weak stomach------well, I'm sure there are enough gross out stories out there to "enhance" their dining pleasure.

That, or mix up a batch of brownies/cookies with Ex-Lax-the person with the loud explosive diarrhea would be your culprit!:smokin:

I believe people have no conscience anymore. where i work someone stole the battery out of the laptop at one of the stations so now there is no computer there to use to make papers you need to go to one of the other stations. where do people get there nerve.

We had a PA who put a container of milk in the fridge and went to get it at the end of the shift and it was gone. The only problem was that it was Breast milk :yeah: I wonder what the person thought when they read the sign she put up saying please leave my breast milk alone. ewwwww

This is a nice, lovely, evil idea. The problem with this is the legal issues that may come from putting medication in the food. Hot peppers is a food item, and who's to say that a person doesn't normally like a really spicy sandwich? (Or any other strange food combination.)
