Pearson Vue Trick--trick no more

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hello everyone!

I took the NCLEX RN last Aug 23, 2014 at 8AM. It was my first take on the exam, and was understandably anxious (and scared) to start and get over with it. We arrived an hour and a half before the start time. I checked-in and was assisted by a fine, old gentleman. I got to start the exam earlier than scheduled (they allow it, as long as you are checked-in, you can immediately start). The tutorial sort of calmed my nerves but to my surprise I was trembling when I started reading the first question! It really helped a lot that you have control on your pacing, so I got comfortable as the exam went on. And so it was, my exam stopped after the 75th question. I finished the tutorial, exam and survey in two hours. OMG! Either I passed or failed miserably fast!

I have been reading about the pearson vue trick, how it works, etc. I planned to check on it an hour after the exam. I logged on to the pearson vue website and got the "good" pop-up. Oh my was I on cloud nine. Thank you Lord! Of course, I checked again after an hour or so, and still I got the good pop-up.

Now, it so happens that that day August 23, 2014, there was a scheduled website maintenance from 5:00-11:00PM CDT. True enough I couldn't access the site during those times. But the stubborn in me still couldn't resist checking the site after the said schedule. So I logged in again, but this time, pearson vue had a new "interface", the old one had the register option on the left. The new website had a "START THE REGISTRATION PROCESS" button right in the middle of the page.

I did try to register again, and do the pearson vue trick again. I answered the questions, etc...and then when I pressed the Next button, praying I would still get the "good" pop-up (to reaffirm my "unofficial" passing result), alas, it went straight to the credit card page!!! I felt shivers in my spine, OMG! "Does this mean I failed?", I thought. I was in denial. I thought, it probably was because they updated the website, after all, I still got the "good" pop-up before the scheduled maintenance. I guess I was just convincing myself at that point. I tried again and again and still went straight to the cc page, I was devastated. It didn't help that my result wasn't available that whole weekend. It was agonizing! Did I pass, did I fail? Waaaaaahhhhh!!

But then thank God for quick results, it was available this morning! I was ambivalent to check because I didn't know how would I react. But of course, I'm not the type who prolongs the agony. I went ahead and paid $7.95 and then the result was available on the next page... I PASSED!!! Praise the Lord!

After I finally got the "unofficial" passing result. I tried again to register for the exam...and still it lead to the cc page, even if I already passed!

Hence, based on my experience, the Pearson Vue trick cannot tell anymore whether you pass or fail after AUGUST 23, 2014. Even if you passed or failed, it will still let you start a registration process and lead you to the cc page. Thus, no more so-called "Pearson Vue Trick". I don't know if this is temporary or permanent, but what I know is that it changed when they had that website maintenance. Its sad that we can't rely anymore on this "trick" to reduce our anxiety and get a "quicker" "unofficial" result.

This just means that future takers of the NCLEX RN would have to rely on the "quick results" option (48 hours after the exam) or wait for their official results in the mail to know for sure what their result is.

I took the NCLEX RN Aug 27th, got to the credit card page and entered my info and clicked submit, it said "you already have a test scheduled you can not registered" something on those lines. I got my results (via BON site) and I passed.

I just wish I was at a state other than California right now! Everyone gets to find out in two days, we get to be in agony for days, weeks...who knows! Congratulations to all who have passed and will just keep on waiting patiently.

I just took my NCLEX-PN last Wednesday(August 27) and im in CALI. I got so many SATA questions :( and got so many image questions, calculations and Drug questions and prioritizations... IM SO NERVOUS!!!!!!!! I stopped at 205 questions.. Anyway reading all about quick results in CALI is just the PVT trick and risking the CC page.... SOOOO>>> I just pressed the sumbit button.. Cant control my self and CANT WAIT!!! and i got "you already have a test scheduled you can not registered ...etc" .... MAN I HOPE THAT THIS POP UP STILL WORKSSS... ANY UPDATES?:(

The PVT has been debunked. There is no way to tell if you passed or failed, NO MATTER WHAT OTHER PEOPLE SAY. They just aren't listening to the facts.

You can have your CC not charged and fail (or pass), and you can have your CC charged and pass (or fail).

You just have to wait until you get your results. You can check the Cali BON.

I am sorry but there is just no way to know. The trick is just that, a trick.

Responding in order:

Control yourself, it is necessary in nursing.

Learn patience....it's a necessary attribute...see above.

It doesn't.

There aren't.

Check your BON website and/or look for a letter from the BON in the mail, THAT is how you'll know if you passed.

Ok guys, I just got home from taking the nclex rn at 8 am Aug 30th, 2014. The computer shut off at 105 questions, had about 75% select all!, what patient you would see first, no med calculations. I took one brake at 75 questions, really took my time because this is my 2nd time taking nclex. My first exam went all the way to 265 questions, I took no brakes and had an hour and a half left! So tight now it is 11:30 am, I of course tried the trick. And I did risk having my cc charged, went all the way to submit payment after I did, it said something similar to what I read in this thread.."you have test scheduled ..you cannot register etc" Also, on the Exam History is says STATUS: results not available. With that said, I will update as soon as I find out if I passed or failed. And try to calm down in the mean time ;)

What is the recipe page?

I recommend this one for its usability and ability to adjust portion sizes. http://allrecipes.com

Unless the poster means The Recipe, a jam band from (I believe) WV. I'm partial to this song. http://youtu.be/yZpiiztc_Sg

Did you find out if you passed? I took the NCLEX for the second time today and Im a wreck :/

So I took my NCLEX today Sep 3, 2014 and tried the trick and it went straight to the CC page and I instantly freaked out. But I came on here and saw that I needed to go further into the registration and actually put my cc info in or wait the 48 hrs...but I am super inpatient so I entered my CC info and got the "good" pop up...only now it isn't a pop up...it just says in red letters at the top before it takes you to the receipt page...that our records have indicated that you have previously registered and cannot register again at this time...so I believe I passed!!! fingers crossed!!

I took my NCLEX-RN this morning, September 3rd. I felt very confident about the test, the majority of my questions were SATA, priority, and arranging in order, I had one math and the rest were regular multiple choice. It shut off at 75 questions. When I got home I tried the Pearson trick and it took me to the credit card page and I freaked out. My status said "results not available" and I convinced myself that I failed. Only now, before going to bed, have I seen this post and it gives me back a little hope! I will post tomorrow when I hear my results from the board of nursing.

I hope you keep us updated with your situation :) I took mine on the 2nd and I've been thinking of giving the PVT trick a try since CA doesn't participate in giving quick results. :nailbiting:
