Hello everyone!
I took the NCLEX RN last Aug 23, 2014 at 8AM. It was my first take on the exam, and was understandably anxious (and scared) to start and get over with it. We arrived an hour and a half before the start time. I checked-in and was assisted by a fine, old gentleman. I got to start the exam earlier than scheduled (they allow it, as long as you are checked-in, you can immediately start). The tutorial sort of calmed my nerves but to my surprise I was trembling when I started reading the first question! It really helped a lot that you have control on your pacing, so I got comfortable as the exam went on. And so it was, my exam stopped after the 75th question. I finished the tutorial, exam and survey in two hours. OMG! Either I passed or failed miserably fast!
I have been reading about the pearson vue trick, how it works, etc. I planned to check on it an hour after the exam. I logged on to the pearson vue website and got the "good" pop-up. Oh my was I on cloud nine. Thank you Lord! Of course, I checked again after an hour or so, and still I got the good pop-up.
Now, it so happens that that day August 23, 2014, there was a scheduled website maintenance from 5:00-11:00PM CDT. True enough I couldn't access the site during those times. But the stubborn in me still couldn't resist checking the site after the said schedule. So I logged in again, but this time, pearson vue had a new "interface", the old one had the register option on the left. The new website had a "START THE REGISTRATION PROCESS" button right in the middle of the page.
I did try to register again, and do the pearson vue trick again. I answered the questions, etc...and then when I pressed the Next button, praying I would still get the "good" pop-up (to reaffirm my "unofficial" passing result), alas, it went straight to the credit card page!!! I felt shivers in my spine, OMG! "Does this mean I failed?", I thought. I was in denial. I thought, it probably was because they updated the website, after all, I still got the "good" pop-up before the scheduled maintenance. I guess I was just convincing myself at that point. I tried again and again and still went straight to the cc page, I was devastated. It didn't help that my result wasn't available that whole weekend. It was agonizing! Did I pass, did I fail? Waaaaaahhhhh!!
But then thank God for quick results, it was available this morning! I was ambivalent to check because I didn't know how would I react. But of course, I'm not the type who prolongs the agony. I went ahead and paid $7.95 and then the result was available on the next page... I PASSED!!! Praise the Lord!
After I finally got the "unofficial" passing result. I tried again to register for the exam...and still it lead to the cc page, even if I already passed!
Hence, based on my experience, the Pearson Vue trick cannot tell anymore whether you pass or fail after AUGUST 23, 2014. Even if you passed or failed, it will still let you start a registration process and lead you to the cc page. Thus, no more so-called "Pearson Vue Trick". I don't know if this is temporary or permanent, but what I know is that it changed when they had that website maintenance. Its sad that we can't rely anymore on this "trick" to reduce our anxiety and get a "quicker" "unofficial" result.
This just means that future takers of the NCLEX RN would have to rely on the "quick results" option (48 hours after the exam) or wait for their official results in the mail to know for sure what their result is.
It means your results are on hold; there is no determination of pass or fail at this time.On the positive side of things, something like 85% of first-time test takers pass.....you either did very well by getting only the minimum number of questions, or very poorly and failed with the minimum.
Based on your academic, clinical, studying experiences, which do you think is most likely?
Good luck :)
I already took it once before. I felt good when I left but then I started looking up things that I had questions about and began to freak out because I was missing a bunch.
Anyway, this morning I checked again, and the PVT now says this:
Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time.
So, based on what others have said, this means I likely passed after all??

So far from the information i've read. Yes you are likely to pass!
I wasn't speaking to you directly, actually, just to the expectation that this will happen now that people are still looking for a 'trick'.The thing is, it's not that you simply didn't have to have knowledge of these threads on this website to have avoided your card deactivation.....you simply should have not given a bazillion authorizations at $200 a pop, causing your bank to guess fraud activity and kill your card! THAT'S what got you: too many expensive authorizations within a short time span, regardless of why.
I can't tell if you're trying to be rude or not, but it sure does sound like it. I didn't charge my card a "bazillion" times. 3 times on one card and two on another. Also I was told to try it out by my DON's assistant. Since she has never seen that screen before from the previous pop ups, I tried it again. I was also more than willing to retake right away if need be. I just thought I'd share the experience so others would be informed. Have a nice day.
It def still works, just tried it. You can also use an old card that expired, if it says "insufficient funds", then it tried to charge the card-which isn't good. I took the test 2 days ago and was positive I failed. I just checked my states dept o labor page and looked under "licenses". Sure enough, I have an ACTIVE license! I was 100% convinced I failed!

No, I wasn't trying for rudeness, and don't think it was, although you took it that way. You did say you tried it "several" times, enough so that your card got cancelled. Obviously "bazillion" is an exaggeration.....and I'd like to think most people would get that.
Bottom line: you warned everyone not to keep authorizing A LOT of charges on their credit cards, lest they get their cards cancelled, as happened to you. So that's a good thing.
Hello...writing from the state of California...I took my NCLEX RN on 8/26/14 at 2pm here in California. Screen shut off at 75 questions and out of the testing center in 40 minutes. Immediately after testing, I came home and tried to reregister. Pearson Vue does not say Delivery Successful like it had before. The status of the exam now reads RESULT NOT AVAILABLE even for my NCLEX PN I took 4 years ago and passed that did read DELIVERY SUCCESSFUL prior to the new update. The interface and format of Pearson Vue has changed and has been recently updated in August of 2014. Anyways, after I took my NCLEX RN Pearson Vue took me all the way to the Credit Card page and I did input my Credit Card Information because even if I failed, I wanted to repay to take the exam anyways. It made me submit my credit card. However, on the last step it blocked me saying "Our Records Indicate...." and did not charge my card. On August 28th, 2014 at 5am my name was up on CA BREEZE RN Website. I am a RN. My classmates have also tried this trick and has worked for them even after the new update in August 2014. Regardless if you passed or failed, you will need to input your credit card info now. If you passed you will recieve an error message with an exclamation point at the top of the page saying Our records indicate you have recently scheduled this exam . Another registration can not be made at this time only after you submit your credit card. versus the traditional "good pop up" So again, if you passed NO CHARGE....if you failed it WILL BE CHARGED...
