OK, so I am a mess right now. I took my RN NCLEX this morning at 8:30-10:30. I had 75 questions and A LOT of select all that apply. I'm confused about the so called "Pearson vue trick." I just tried to re register it asked me to enter my credit card info and I got the following message" our records indicate you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time." It had a red triangle with an ! In it. I'm confused bc I thought that was the "good pop up" but I also read if it takes you to the cc info page that meant you failed. HELP!!!!
I took it in Texas!
I took the LVN exam last September 2014. Like all other nurses who took LVN/RN exam I also tried the Pearson Vue trick. Since I am from California, I cannot check my result after 48 hours of taking the exam. I am nervous and hopeful at the same time. I told my self I will wait for the result to be mailed but out of my desperation I was not able to stopped my self from doing the trick (LOL).. So I did my research and do exactly as the said. I logged in and enter the info needed and behold Pearson vue asked for my credit card and I got to the point that I almost clicked on the final step for payment. I was so sad because I did not get the so called good pop up. I prayed and prayed because that's all that I can do. I still have a little hope left in me, and I told my self that I will only believe that I fail if I WILL SEE THE ACTUAL LETTER. After waiting for 3 long weeks my result came, and I was surprised that I PASSED.
It is okay to do the trick but it will only make you feel hopeless if you don't get the result that you are hoping for. Just wait for the confirmation letter and pray a lot. I don't know how I passed the exam but just have faith and confidence that's all that I can say.
Hope this helps.

Except that the 'trick' changed this past August; you did not complete the steps required to get TO the 'good pop up'. You didn't do what they're calling the 'new trick' correctly.
You are required to put in your credit card information (yes, SUBMIT, not 'almost submit') in order to see if you are allowed to register again. PROBLEM with that is that there is a chance that you will be charged $200 for a re-test even if you passed. Sometimes you will be told you cannot register ('good pop up') when you failed. The trick is, after all, a trick.
But if you ARE going to do this thing, you have to do it correctly.
Greetings from PA!
I've decided to share my story on the NCLEX-RN and the PVT.
I took my exam on Oct. 20 and was done at about 85 questions. I felt every other question was a SATA. After the test, I wasn't sure if I passed or failed. So I searched the internet to learn how to do the Pearson Vue Trick, only to find out that the trick didn't work anymore...or did it?
Before trying the trick, I read tons and tons of forums! I found out that everyone(no matter pass or fail) is now being taken to the CC screen. You actually have to put in your credit card information, click next and then click "SUBMIT" to finalize payment. If your payment doesn't go through and you get the message "Our record indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time." it's presumed that you passed. However, if the transaction goes through and your card is charged, it's presumed that you failed.
Well...I tried it and got the good pop-up, everyone calls it. The message that reads: "Our record indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time." I was relieved to get that message, however, I knew it wasn't 100%, it just meant more than likely I passed. I came to that conclusion because while searching trying to get data and info on the trick, there were people stating they put in their cc information and they didn't get the "good" pop-up, yet they still passed. Well they did it wrong, they didn't click "submit" when it was time to finalize payment. You risk losing $200 if it goes through.
I did find someone on the forums who passed, did the trick right and did not receive the good pop-up. However, they used a card with insufficient funds, as I did. So they received an insufficient funds message and no good pop-up, yet they still passed.
I found that most people who were charged $200 or received the message "insufficient funds," never came back to the forum to update everyone of their status(pass or fail). The person mentioned above is the only person I found. This is when I came to the conclusion, they must've have failed. It seems the only people who update, are the ones that pass and I only found one false fail.
After 48 hrs, before paying Pearson Vue for quick results, I checked the Pennsylvania Board of Nursing(PA BON) for my name and boom, there it was. I was so happy! Thereafter, I still paid for quick results because I thought it was going to tell me more than just "passed."
CONCLUSION: Read the forums, don't skim! I believe the Pearson Vue Trick is somewhat accurate, but not a guarantee. If you are going to try it, use a valid card with insufficient funds.
I took my NCLEX November 1st 2014, and immediately after attempted the Pearson Vue "trick". I had already read that the trick is different now... EVERYONE gets the credit card payment screen, you have to actually enter your credit number (an active one), and hit submit. Now, you have to be aware that if you failed your credit card will be charged the $200 after this step, but if you passed... SUPPOSEDLY you'd now get the "good pop up"... "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time". I won't know my results officially until tomorrow but I thought I'd see if anyone has gotten the "good pop up" recently, but actually failed?
I just took my exam on October 27 and immediately went to try and register and got the credit card screen. I was dismayed to see that cc screen and felt that I had failed but I paid for the quick results after 48 hours and found out that I passed Yayy! But I did not know that the PearsonVue trick had changed. So you are right everyone gets the cc screen.
jenni: yes, this has happened. More than once, more than twice, as evidenced by information posted by members of this website.
The NCLEX is scored by the computer TWICE. If a person enters their CC information after the first scoring, but before the second (and the first scoring has you as a 'fail') you will have paid $200 for another exam. The trouble comes in if after the SECOND scoring you are a 'pass'--and yes, it absolutely DOES happen--you will have paid $200 for nothing, and have no leg to stand on when asking for a refund. There ARE NO refunds, and you agree to this by offering your credit card number.
If you want to play with the PVT, you need to wait a full 24 hours after completion of your exam, until BOTH sets of scores have been finalized. THEN you have a 'reasonable' expectation that if it takes your $$, you failed....and if it doesn't, you passed. Before 24 hours.....means zero.
thank you, good thing i found your forum. i cried when i do the pvt trick And i thought i failed already since it let me go through to a page where i have to authorize the payment but i didt hit the "submit order" ...
now i know that you have to hit "submit" to know if you'll get the good pop up
