I wanted to give a quick update to the Pearson Vue Trick (PVT) 2017. While looking for if the "trick" still worked, I didn't see much updated info, and wanted to hopefully alleviate some stress on new grads. I took NCLEX Jan 10th 2017, and got all 265 questions. I started at 8am and finished around 11am. I came home and cried my eyes out thinking I failed, because I assumed getting all the questions was a bad thing. Long story short I tried the PVT by trying to reregister for nclex at about 2pm (I told myself I was going to wait until the next day, but I just couldn't!). I used a current credit card, but put in the incorrect exp date and cvc. I got the "good popup" but wasn't convinced. The good pop up says something about you have already registered for the test blah blah and will not take your money. I tried again later in the evening, maybe around 6ish and got the same result. I was slightly more hopeful, but still not convinced. In Wisconsin we have an OLAS application website I checked also, and next to my nclex results it turned green and said met. At exactly 8am the next day I got the official email from the State of Wisconsin that I had passed, and contained my RN number. I also bought the quick results which said pass.... Soooo long story short the PVT worked for me in 2017!
I took my NCLEX-PN on 03/31/2017 at 2pm. Since it was on a Friday I'm guessing I have to wait until Monday right? The lady at the pearson testing location told me I'd have to wait until Tuesday. Is this true?
My director of nursing at my school said she did the "pearson trick" & says I passed.
I also tried the pearson trick and got the same unable to re-register b/c our records show you recently scheduled a test, or something along those lines.
I only had 89 questions and I honestly felt like I failed. I cried my whole way home (1.5 hours). I had 3 hours and 28 minutes left.
I don't know if it changes anything that I tested in Virginia.
I don't want to raise false hope that I passed if I actually failed.
This weekend I've tried to look up my name & last 4 of my social on the VA license look up but it still says "Sorry no matches were found". I've probably tried looking it up about 10 times, lol.
I'm in the same boat as you. I also took my test 3/31 at around 11am for the CA BRN. I've also done the PVT. I did it on 4/1, 4/2, and today 4/3. The first time I placed all of my correct information for payment and the 2nd and 3rd time all correct information except for the expiration date. Each time I got the good popup, but I'm still skeptical. I know sometimes it takes the BRN quite some time to update with the results, but the waiting is giving me another ulcer aside from the one I got from stressing out about studying for the test. I hope we get word soon!
ales and doca, please stop trying to give payment to Pearson Vue, one of these times they might just take it! If the PVT isn't giving you any peace of mind, stop doing it.
California BON is pretty slow, it does take time and it is frustrating. Going over and over in your head how many questions you had and what kind of question and whether you think they were easy or hard can't be a bigger waste of time. None of that means anything, honestly!
I know it's hard to wait and I know you're very anxious but you just have to stop punching buttons on your phone doing the PVT and looking for some kind of insight into whether you passed or not. No one knows, the director of nursing should know better than to play that stupid game and base hopes on that, but what's done is done.
Around 85% of first-time test takers pass the nclex if they studied in the USA. Those are great odds! Nothing is going to change now, stop offering to pay Pearson Vue more money, and treat yourself to something fun. Go to the mall, meet friends for lunch, play with the dog, just walk away from the temptation of the computer lol and good luck!

You guys! I passed! I was awoken at around 5:50 am PST by my sister-in-law crying that I passed! PVT is alive and well for the CA BRN/BON! Keep your chins up and I pray you will get your answers soon!

The PVT trick still works ..took my exams on the 04/10/17 ,machine went off in 78questions and the BON had updated my status with my RN number the following day by 8:18am������was also able to view my quick results 48hrs later through Pearsonvue
The trick worked for me. I failed the first time and my CC was processed. The next time I took it, the website was going through an update so when I did the trick it said enter correct CC # (used a expired one). Then I used a valid one and due to the update it still said used the correct #. So I waited till I got the email confirmation of "Now that you completed your nclex exam....." I did the trick and got the good pop up. Did every 2, 4, 6 hours and next day, even alternated card, and still got the good pop up... So glad I'm done with that test. And I took my test on a Sat afternoon too and did the trick on Sunday, license was issued on Tuesday AM in Cali.

I took my test on March 15, 2017 and I have not had any results yet.
I see you took yours one day after mine.
Did you get any results yet? Did you take your NCLEX RN in California?
