Hi Everyone,
First, I just want to thank everyone that comes to this website to share his or her experience. This website literally keeps people alive and going during some tough times. You might not know it, but there are tens of people out there that quote this website each day.
My journey with the Nclex-RN in California started on the 2th of December. I took the Nclex, I went home and tried the PVT, and it gave me the good pop-up. 24 hours and 4 days later, I was still getting the good pop-up. A week passed and no result or license, I was anxious to say the least, as some of my classmates got their license within 48 - 72 hours after taking the exam.
I always came to this website to get some courage as the weeks rolled by. Finally on 31st of December, I got my license. The long wait was over.
My main reason of writing today is that through my experience, I found out that the pearson vue trick is not a trick. It is the way the computer is programmed. If one fails the Nclex, it will take your money or decline your card accordingly (for insufficient funds or being invalid). The so called trick works perfectly.
Secondly, If you live in California, and you get the good pop-up after 24 hours of taking the Nclex, you passed. The waiting time has to do with the BRN taking so much time to process files. Keep strong and keep faith, you will get your license.
Hi Nurses,
Quick uplate PV trick is still up and running as of yesterday 8am, NCLEX RN- 85 questions in 2.5hrs.Tried the PVT about an hour later and got the good pop upí ½í¸Š
This is actually my second go around. My 1st try was in January, 220 questions and ran out of timeí ½í¸• Did PVT and got the on hold response..
I thought I had failed this time around cause it felt hard than the first time. However come this AM, I am a Nurseí ½í¸Š It's a beautiful thing!
God is great!
Many Thanks to all the Nurses for the great advice and positive reinforcement! Be blessedí ½í¸š
So I took my NCLEX exam on April 28th. It was my 2nd time around and I went to all 265 questions.
I have some questions:
1. For those in California (OC/ANAHEIM/SD) area how long did it take for the BRN to send you your letter in the mail? I am hearing it takes about 1-2 weeks??
2. If you passed does the letter state your weak areas, or does it give you a card that says your an RN?
3. I tried the PVT like everyone told me too, however....I tried it before 24 hours (like about 2 hours after). I got a pop up that told me "currently this applicant has an open registration, and that I could not schedule an exam at this time." So, a few of my classmates told me that I tried the trick to early? What are your thoughts?
4. My inpatient self (and yes I am kicking myself for doing this) tried using my cell phone (about 5-6 hours after my exam) and I entered a credit card in and BAM! it took my money. (Insert me freaking out and crying and doubting and worrying). I am praying I am one of those stories where the money got charged but later found out that I passed....(I am so very hopeful).....
So for the nurses who passed recently, do I wait for the results to arrive from the mail man? and if I do...How long is everyone having to wait who lives in CA and recently took NCLEX?
Its been 4 official business days, nothing is showing on Breeze, so I am wondering if I should just accept that I did indeed fail. Any advice or words of encouragement :)

A CPR (Candidate Performance Report) is only sent to those who fail, so that they can find out where they need to focus for their next exam. If you pass the test you do not receive a CPR, you get a license number.
In doing the PVT after the first scoring, but before the second (which is why you are told to wait 24 hours; the QA review is done at an unknown point during the 24 hours following your exam) you found out only that your initial score was a pass based on the pop up you got when you tried to register again.
However, you chose to do it again (also before 24 hours) and it took your money. This means either the review determined you had not met the standard and had failed...OR....Pearson Vue just took the money you offered it. It's a non-refundable fee for another registration, whether you passed or not.
With any luck, you will be out $200 for your impatience but will have passed the exam. You might also find that you were one of those that the review catches and your test was determined to be a fail.
Not sure how long you might need to wait for the BrEZe, but it's probably going to be faster than the snail mail that would tell you, conclusively, if you passed and are getting a license, or need to retest. California is notoriously slow and can take weeks to get the word out
Good luck!

Hi! I am too in your almost exact boat. I am in northern CA, tested on 4/28, and got my money taken by PVT. I did not try initially, bc I know sometimes they get our name and license number up on breeze within 2 days...however after the second business day, I did do the trick. I did it one time, with my accurate cc info. M mail is still under my dad's shop which is closed today (mon), so I do not know if I received a fail letter. This is my 4th time testing and each time I received a failure notice within about 1 weeks....so I am nervous. With you being in southern CA it may take a little longer since the BRN is in Sacramento, (northern), but maybe not. I thought for sure I had passed, with 75 questions, many SATA throughout the entire test...and then adding in priority and delegation questions from about 42-75. I was so sure signs pointed in my direction that I could have only passed with knowing nearly 99.5% sure I had gotten my 75th question correct and it was a priority...I heard you don't see priority and delegation unless u are doing well. And wouldn't I have gotten at 76 lower level question if I had gotten it wrong. I really don't feel like I was bombing it....so I had it in my heart that this was a pass. No name on breeze, but it took my $200 for re registering. Soooooo nerve-wracking. I too and hoping we can post our story that the PVT was wrong, it took our money, but yet we passed. Still hopeful.....let me know you're outcome!
Hi Everyone,
I took my NCLEX yesterday May4, I was a nervous reck, shaking, dry mouth you name it I had it. but when I wen in surprisingly I was quite calm and the instructor said if you are nervous you don't seem like it with that smile on your face (didn't realize I was smiling) but anyway the test didn't seem that hard and I got cut off at 98 questions..... So I tried the PVT when I got to my car and I got the good pop up :) :) :) I also tried again this morning and again got the good pop up. So I am hoping that I can get my QR tomorrow. I am from Boston and I was also the last one in my class to take the exam so that is some added pressure. Wish me luck and Good luck to everyone else.
I got my letter exactly one week after:unsure:I didn't pass. I'm bummed, but I have to keep going! Will be ready in 45 days to try for the 3rd time! I can't believe I was "near the passing standard" in all of the content sections!
Feeling a bit defeated but I know God has big plans for me and it's all about the right time. 3rd times a charm right!?

Might be a good time to insert "PVT works for EVERYONE"......including the majority of those who do it wrong
