I graduate this June and I've already sent my application to the BRN (I live in California). Well I wanted to know, after I send in my application, can I register with Pearson Vue or do I have to wait to hear from the BRN. I received conformation from the BRN that they've received my application, but they said it will take about 4-6 weeks before they finish. I want to register with Pearson Vue ASAP so I can take the boards before the end July. Please HELP!!! Thanks

Not sure if all states handle it the same way but I suspect they do. Pearson Vue has to receive a confirmation number that is supplied by your state BON. That number proves that you have completed your nursing program successfully. The only way they can have that is for you to graduate & your school sends the information to the BON. You'll just have to be patient. Hopefully, your school will get the info out quickly. Mine took their time but once the BON got it, things speeded up considerably.

How do you know when the BON sends the number to Pearson Vue? I don't graduate until June 14th. What's unfortunate for me is that our class is kinda big, like 150 students. The school said they would try their best to get all the information out in time. How long after you register with Pearson Vue do they give you the ATT?

I believe that the BON sends you the ATT & that is the confirmation number you need when you schedule your test.

The BON sent it to me by e-mail & I was immediately able to go on Pearson's website & submit the number. That allowed me to register, if I recall correctly, & schedule my test. Unfortunately you can't get to the webpage until you have that number. But once you do, you can check out testing centers to see when they have openings to take the test. I was surprised to learn that the one closest to me was filled up for over a month. I checked out a few that were farther away & found an opening during the next week. It meant driving an extra hour but was worth it.

Here you can sign up with Pearson and they will let you know when the BON gets your paper work to them. I paid a month before I graduated because I want to test as soon as they get my info.

:yeahthat:

In the state where I'm getting my license they actually tell us to sign up for PearsonVUE before you even send in your application so that you will be registered and ready to go when the state tells them we are authorized to sit for the test.

I think I'm going to give that a shot. I'm just going to go to Pearson Vue and attempt to sign up, if they allow me great, if not then I guess I'll just have to wait until the BON sends them my info.

Hypoxic, I am waiting for my ATT as well and I also live in southern California I sent my paperwork in mid-April and the check for the application fee was cashed on May 22. I called yesterday and finally got through. I was told that my application was not yet evaluated, that should give you an idea...they are really behind. Two months for the process to just start is soooo long. I also asked about the ATT and who sends it they advised me that the board sends you notification when your papers are cleared and you are ready to register. This was yesterday. I figured why register with Pearson Vue just yet I will wait for my letter. So basically my application sat on someones desk for 7 weeks or so before they even picked it up!! I am just venting...I am getting restless.

I just signed up with Pearson Vue and provided them my information and everything. I can't sign up to take the test. So I'm assuming that I have to wait to hear from the BON.

I think the Pearson Vue website says to send application to the state before registering. So...I filled out my app, put a stamp on it, set it down on my bed, and then registered with Pearson Vue.

I got my final grades from the school on May 21 and my ATT on June 3. I'm all set to take my test on July 7.

:yeah::yeah::yeah:

Good luck to you and wish me luck, too.
