Pearson "trick" 2017 NCLEX RN

Published

I've been on this site all month reading about the NCLEX and the Pearson vue trick; and I told myself if I passed that I would share my experience! So here I am :)

I graduated December 16, 2016 and signed up to take the NCLEX January 30, 2017. To study, I did the Hurst Review: 3 days live, watched all the videos online, and the 6 Q review exams. I found the Hurst to be a good review of the content, but more importantly the Q review exams helped me to "think like a nurse". My scores were: 63,71,81,80,84,79

When the day of my exam arrived, I still wasn't sure if I was going to try the trick or not.. but I ended up doing it as soon as I got to my car lol. To me, the exam was extremely difficult and I felt like I was getting them all wrong. I was also worried because I only got like 10 select alls.. however, I knew that I got the last question right, which I heard was an indication that you passed. Nevertheless, the screen went blue after 110 questions (took about 2 hours) and I felt horrible.

I went to my car and pulled out my debit card to re-register (changing the exp. date and security code) and when I hit submit the first time the pop up wasn't there because you actually have to "view all your info to make sure it's correct" and then hit submit AGAIN to get the pop up. I got the good pop up and couldn't believe it, ugly cried for a good 5 minutes, and checked the board of nursing website the next day at 9am and PASSED.

I find it funny that when I didn't see the pop up at first - it was like a death sentence, but once I actually got it - I was skeptical of its legitimacy lol. Everyone in my graduating class who has gotten the pop up has passed (at least 10 of us so far). Some people suggest waiting, but I tried it literally like 15min after I was done testing and it worked.

My advice would be just to study and don't give yourself any reason to feel regret once you sit in front of that computer; know that you did everything you could do to prepare and you can do it!

Best of luck to future RNs!

They were available right at 48 hours after the start time of my exam. PASSED. :wacky:

Myself and two of my classmates tested on the same day. We all got the good pop up, and we all passed, so it worked for us.

Took my NCLEX-RN yesterday (6/7/17) with 75 questions in 60 minutes did the PVT around 4 hours later and got the good pop up. I heard they released scores at 530am here in MI so I signed on this morning (next day 6/8/17) and found out I did pass :D. I know for some people it takes 48 hours in MI to post on LARA.

It would be great if everyone posting their PVT experience, also listed what state they took the test in.

I sat for the NCLEX-RN on Thursday, 6/8/17. After receiving the email for Pearson Vue, I got the "good pop up." Not sure of the validity of checking right away, I continued to check throughout the day. Today, at about 0830 my license was posted on the Georgia BON.

Completed the NCLEX today, June 13 @ 0800. Computer shut off at 75 - thought for sure I failed. Did the PVT and I am still getting the "good" pop-up (eight hours later). I hope it's accurate!

I just want to ask should I go for hurst or uworld?

Didn't do Hurst, but Uworld is amazing.

Wrote my exam 2 hours ago and i've been getting a good pop up since. did anyone experience a pop up change (from good to bad) ? im hoping that mine will stay the same...

I just took my exam this morning at 8am. I was done and out by 9:30. Cut off in 75 Questions, I had a ton of SATA, 2 or 3 put things in order, 1 or 2 delegations, a couple precautions, and a lot of prioritization questions. I didn't have any math. I walked out feeling like I failed it! I drove home to wait for my email from Pearson Vue telling me that they have transmitted my results. I got it, tried the PVT got the good pop up. That was 2 hrs after the test, then I tried it again at 4-5 hrs after same good pop up. tried it again tonight.... LOL same good pop up. Hoping that is a good thing! I tested for Montana. Waiting for the quick results.....I am freaking out!

Took the exam today too but at 10am and I am nearly 90% certain I failed...but I did the PVT and got good pop up -still sure I failed. I've read to also do the PVT after 24 hrs. Do you know if we'll get quick results by Saturday or will it be Monday being that we took the test on a thursday?
