I've been on this site all month reading about the NCLEX and the Pearson vue trick; and I told myself if I passed that I would share my experience! So here I am :)
I graduated December 16, 2016 and signed up to take the NCLEX January 30, 2017. To study, I did the Hurst Review: 3 days live, watched all the videos online, and the 6 Q review exams. I found the Hurst to be a good review of the content, but more importantly the Q review exams helped me to "think like a nurse". My scores were: 63,71,81,80,84,79
When the day of my exam arrived, I still wasn't sure if I was going to try the trick or not.. but I ended up doing it as soon as I got to my car lol. To me, the exam was extremely difficult and I felt like I was getting them all wrong. I was also worried because I only got like 10 select alls.. however, I knew that I got the last question right, which I heard was an indication that you passed. Nevertheless, the screen went blue after 110 questions (took about 2 hours) and I felt horrible.
I went to my car and pulled out my debit card to re-register (changing the exp. date and security code) and when I hit submit the first time the pop up wasn't there because you actually have to "view all your info to make sure it's correct" and then hit submit AGAIN to get the pop up. I got the good pop up and couldn't believe it, ugly cried for a good 5 minutes, and checked the board of nursing website the next day at 9am and PASSED.
I find it funny that when I didn't see the pop up at first - it was like a death sentence, but once I actually got it - I was skeptical of its legitimacy lol. Everyone in my graduating class who has gotten the pop up has passed (at least 10 of us so far). Some people suggest waiting, but I tried it literally like 15min after I was done testing and it worked.
My advice would be just to study and don't give yourself any reason to feel regret once you sit in front of that computer; know that you did everything you could do to prepare and you can do it!
Best of luck to future RNs!
I passed! Woo-Hoo! I took nclex 02/02/17, it shut off at 75 questions. I did the pvt that day and the next day, both times good pop ups.And 02/04/17 I saw my license posted at 1:00 am
, it only took 36 hours for them to post it. I took it in CA. Good Luck Everybody!
Congrats, nurse!!!
I take it in CA in a few days.
What time of day did you take it?
I took it at 12 pm. Got the license up in 36 hours. Good luck!
Awesome! Good to know. My friend took hers at on 2/1 at 8am and hers was posted at 2/3 1am; 41 hours later.
I was curious as to whether the time you take NCLEX affects when it will be posted, but based on your response...doesn't seem like it!
THANK YOU!

Nope, I think if you pass they have an automated system that posts, I highly doubt people sit there at 3 am and post licenses, lol. Mine was posted so quickly. Last night I checked at 12:30 am, nothing, and before bed I thought uh I'll just check one more time, not really expecting anything and bam, there it was. So, I could not go back to bed until 4 am from the excitement haha. Now, I feel exhausted

Congrats to all that passed. I took the NCLEX on Friday Feb 3rd, I had a horrible experience and thought for sure I failed. I did the PVT and I'm getting the good pop up, it has helped put my mind at ease, but I still don't fully trust it. I don't know what to think, I would have bet anything that I failed before this. Btw, if you don't want the longest anxiety filled weekend of your life, do not take your exam on a Friday. Lol
It may help if people actually take the word "trick" out of the equation. The registration is pretty straight forward; if you failed you will have to re-register on the same website, regardless. If you passed, what sense does it make to allow you to re-register? When you think about it, it's not really a trick, it just makes perfect sense.
Took my test on Saturday at 8am... tried to re-register an hour after I got out the test and got the good pop up. Submitted for quick results at 7am this morning and I passed!! I graduated December 18th...took a month off because I was just so stressed out and exhausted from the last semester of school...bought UWORLD on January 20th and did a minimum of 75 questions a day, everyday for 2 weeks. I felt like the NCLEX questions were easier than UWORLD questions. I highly recommend UWORLD, thats all I used to study.

My friend took hers on 2/1 at 8am. She tried PVT a few hours after testing and received the good pop-up.
I couldn't sleep late Thursday night, so I kept checking BrEZe (California) for her name. Around 12:42am on 2/3, her name and license popped up!
Congrats to everyone who passed and good luck to those taking their NCLEX, soon! I take mine next week...
