Hey there Tate1. Hows Pharm? Is it what we expect it to be or is it on par with any other pre-med course out there?

Pharmacology requires a lot of work, it is a whole bunch of information in a short period of time. The testing format is critical thinking questions, so you end up with questions that have more than one right answer in your options...you have to know the best right answer. Study group is a really good idea for this class!

I'm really nervous about pharm and want to get a headstart. Any suggestions on how to do that? What books to buy and such? Any help from anyone would be appreciated!!

Don't be nervous...just think. people have done this class successfully in six weeks over the summer, and you are going to to it in 16 weeks! YOU CAN DO IT! The key is doing it everyday!

Is anyone else going to take Pharm online? I am going to do it online. I am an EMT (well licensed but don't practice)...I might be interested in a study group.

Also, is there anyone else here that is part time?

Does anyone know the rule about uniforms? It says in my part time packet that I only dress out for clinical. Does that mean I do not need the scrubs for lab or lecture? Just wondering because the part time group has no clinical until the summer and I don't want to spend the extra money right now if I don't need them until clinical in the summer.

As far as the uniform. I believe that you only need to wear the uniforms on the days you have clinicals. When in doubt contact the nursing office. I believe the ladies name is Rhonda Boles.She should be able to answer you questions.

artistdiaz, i am going to stick with my online pharm. i think a study group would be a great idea.

i borrowed an nclex study guide for pharm from the library. plan on starting to read though on my subway commutes to work. hopefully i will be able to get some books while i am in florida this weekend and begin thumbing through.

Hi everyone, i got accepted into Lake Worth full time as well. From what I've heard all together the online pharm class is better IF you are good at keeping up with the work, if not take it live. I personally am taking it online and am very nervous. But I would love to join a study group.. message me if you guys get a plan together please!

me too guys, i am rusty with my meds (pediatric dosages) but i can guess/know the usage for the meds. now ask me about the mechanisms (i.e. beta 1 or beta 2 agonist or antagonist, tropics, etc :uhoh3: ), i dont know!!! that was my "weakest link" :confused: . acls drugs i know very well so if you guys want to meet up i'm down. i have a friend that has an extra room in palm beach. i will be staying up there four days out of the week. so email me guys if you want to study. my email address is my screen name here but just put aol at the end of it.
