PBSC/PBCC August 2010

Published

Hi!

The PBSC/PBCC thread is getting a tad crowded so I figure now is as good a time as any to get the prospective students thread going.

Good luck to everyone!

did anyone order their uniforms yet? how much did it end up costing you? I'm gonna order mine after or before taking the HESI on the 14th. And I'm taking PBSC's CPR course on the 15th

I asked that Jules fellow about the HESI, and he had no clue. He said it will be first time he's given the test, and knows nothing about it. Just that it has a 6 hour time limit. Does anyone know what kind of questions are on it?

I took everything but the A/p portion when I applied to FAU. It reminded me of the TEAS. Basic math and grammar as well as vocab. Some of the math I hadn't seen since high school. Brush up on multiplying and dividing fractions.

I hope everyone remembered to register for classes.

all registered :)

anyone doing the hesi on the 14th? Anyone taking the online lecture?

HESI on the 14th. I'm taking the lecture In class. Online scares me.

I'm doing online lecture. I've never done it before but most first semester students I've spoken to suggested online lecture.

Has everybody copmleted the Medical Exam yet? I'm shopping around for prices because I don't have insurance. It looks like it will cost around $300-$400. Is anyone not taking the Recommended Immunizations- Hepatitis B Series? This one is going to cost me the most $.

The Little Clinic

These are the little walk-ins in the publix stores.

They have a list of prices to compare. Have you contacted the Health Dept. yet?

Also, has anyone found a pair of all white leather sneakers. I'm having a hell of a time.

I haven't done my physical yet. I go in for it tomorrow afternoon. My doctor office quoted me: physical $50, PPD $10, and $ 150 for the titers. I'll let you know tomorrow if it ends up being more than that.

About the hep b. - when I called the health dept they said that it's a series of 3 shots and takes 6 months to complete. Has anyone else heard this?

Whoamelly - the reebok easy tone are almost all white w. minimal gray on them. My girlfriend in the program wears white shox with a litle gray on them.

Thanks everyone for the information. I made an appointment to go to the medical center of palm beaches. This place was mentioned in the nursing handbook. Will cost about $330 total. The hepatitis should be 50 per shot and you get it 3x. Don't know if it takes 6 months though. I'm getting Nursemates for shoes. They are comfortable and cost about $50 on this website I found.
