PBCC-palm beach comm. college

Published

Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of study for the nurse Procalc and the NLN entrance exam for PBCC fall nursing program.

I read on line that this school works on a point system

I was wondering if anyone who has been accepted to the program

(past/Present) student: HOW MANY POINTS DID YOU HAVE TO

WHEN ACCEPTED TO THE PROGRAM.

Anyone with info about the program, would be helpful.

Thanks

No Good News here. Nursing Day Deny. 25.9 Points.

I got the bad news too...deny on nursing day, this sux!

Hi mommiluvsadrian,

I am crushed. What are your plans? Do you mind if I ask how many points you had? Ive been exploring options all morning!

o yea and I had 26.7 points...I wonder what the cutoff was

I honestly don't even have a plan B...I have no idea what i'm going to do i was sure i would get in...im so upset you must be too... sorry

Cut off was 27.6

Just got my confirmation email through PantherWeb. Congrats to all who will be moving on and hope to see you in person. Best of luck to those not chosen and hope you try again.

Hello! Congrats to those who made it in!! To those of you who didn’t make it: I feel your pain. I didn’t make the cut either, and it feels horrible.... However, we've still got spring semester to apply for! My plan B is to research what I can do to obtain more points before next application deadline. Another thought is, while waiting, to take a class or two that will go towards my BSN, that way after I get into nursing school and graduate I can move onto my BSN and have a few classes already completed. We'll see! Anyone else have a plan B?

Hello all.

I finally made it in with 28.87 pts. It was my second time applying. To those who didn't make it in this time... I know EXACTLY how you feel. I researched some "Plan B's" but in the end decided to keep trying for PBCC. I have mentioned in the past, I looked into a private school for an RN program. The costs were way too high for me. I have some prior student loan debt. I just didn't want to add to it.

The next application deadline will be Oct 1. It will come so much sooner than you think. In the meantime, try to boost your GPA, consider retaking the NLN if possible, and volunteer at a hospital to gain an extra point!! Don't give up. I can speak for each and everyone of us who applied and was either accepted or denied...it's been a long road!!

Please don't give up. I knew this term would be so competitive. Fall is usually the most competitive (so I've heard). All of you have another chance (and probably a better chance) at getting in this Spring.

I feel for all who didn't get in. I was there 7 months ago. One of my good friends didn't make it this time. I know she will get in for Spring.

Jentrbo, I went back to the first few pages of this forum and came across some of your previous posts. I saw how you weren’t accepted at first, and now you’re in! Congrats! Thanks for the pep post. What did you do to boost your points? I applied with only 23.57 points. I don’t have the work related experience, so I’m going to volunteer, and retake the NLN if I can. I only scored a 75 last time. I ran out of time on one of the sections even though I bought the book and times myself.... Any other thoughts?

Belle I sent you an email :D

Hello all,

Congrats to those that got in. I didn't get in. It is very upsetting because it took a lot to get the points that I have. I wish that I had just went to school for something more simple like Dental assisting. I am thinking about just applying to Belle Glade even though I don't want to go there. I could retake the nln. I got an 88 which originally I thought was a good score especially since I was pregnant and had to keep going to the bathroom and I ran out of time.
