PBCC-palm beach comm. college

Published

Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of study for the nurse Procalc and the NLN entrance exam for PBCC fall nursing program.

I read on line that this school works on a point system

I was wondering if anyone who has been accepted to the program

(past/Present) student: HOW MANY POINTS DID YOU HAVE TO

WHEN ACCEPTED TO THE PROGRAM.

Anyone with info about the program, would be helpful.

Thanks

i just receive the dreadful email...i didnt get in the BCC nurse program ooh well now i gots to go will plan B.

however i got a 88 on my first Micro exam im happy for that yay 4 me. thanks Mystical for the notes they helped a lot.

your very welcome smallz and thunter. now study your butt off in school and earn that RN degree.

I am so sorry... I know how it feels.

How does bcc work, does it go by a point system as well?

well done @micro

Specializes in None yet.

Hi everyone just wanted to say that I read the post and I found myself being anxious for all of you...Congrats on the acceptances...and for those who didn't I know how it feels but there always another route...i've been on both spectrum but just know that it will come to pass if its meant to be....

to be honest with you...i think it works on a point system but i dont even know how many points i have. they didnt sent me a email or nothing...go figure right.i got most of the info from the students on this website. belive me BCC staff is not that helpful. i only applied there only because i didnt take my NLN yet for PBCC but i will for next selection.

BCC they told me that they have another class starting in May and the application opens tommorow Nov.1 they encourage me to apply

i have heard the samething about the staff at bcc....

2bnurse-1,

sorry you didn't get in the BCC program. That's great that you got a B on your MIcro exam. you are so helpful to others that you will be rewarded soon just be patient, maybe God has bigger plans for you and Mystical0217 both of you seem to be helping alot of other people. Keep your chin up. Thanks agian

2BNurse1, I'm sorry that you didn't get into BCC, however, congrats on your micro exam. I know that that class is not easy.

Do you mind sharing what your GPA is? I have some folks who I know applied there.

p.s Thanks for the info re work alliance. In all of your surfing, have you seen scholarship or funds for someone like me who works, have a previous degree and don't want any more loans but needs funds to possibly attend Galen which is $16k because the chances are getting in a RN public program are almost slim to none without waiting.

I just saw on USFs Tampa campus that the Accelerated BSN for folks who have a BS degree already class will be cut from 2 to 1. There won't be a Summer 2009 class due to budget cuts.

The options just got slimmer and while I would never consider a private school with exhorbitant fees, the chance to get in an evening lpn program, keep my day job, in Feb or June 2009 is starting to make sense as oppose to trying to get into a lottery system program that is only available aug 2010 for Erwin Tech .

:tinkbll:hey guys...any info you have for scholarships or grants will be appreciated. As far as the workforce alliance goes, if you are denied through FASFA for grants and you get the workforce alliance program to sponsor you, can you not apply for loans? Please let me know. Thanks.

PS The number for the Jupiter office for workforce alliance isnt answering. If anyone has another number please let me know. Thanks again.

Any help you can give for scholarships please let me know.

Thanks,

Lisa

yes vonneG, broward has it too. word on the street is that its more harder to obtain because broward population is very large. im not for sure though as i live in palm beach. but its always worth a try.

i will do some reaserch on this as i will be going to school in Broward i have other scholarships available but the application period doesnt open up till December 1st . let me know if you need the info. they are small amounts $500-$1000 but you get like 3 of them...in the end its a like a big chunk. these scholorships are easy to get... as you know com. colleges are not that expensive so you will be getting a sweet refund each quarter.

yea yea i know i have a lots of info as my friends would say. i work on the computer all day at work , so when im not sueing Nurses, i surf the net and look up all sorts of information and resources. there are many sources to help individuals for school and home eg. help you pay your electric bill, help you pay your rent, money to buy your first home (15k to be exact) etc etc.

2bnurse-1,

I just textd you. I am so sorry you didn't get in. Keep trying any route possible! CNA or LPN whatever it takes. That's what I'm going to do if I don't get in.

2bnurse:

I know it stinks but I got denied for fall 08' at Lake Worth. Then I took the NLN again n got a higher score to get in this semester. For those of you who want to apply fall09' at Lake Worth, the least amount of points to get in was 25.25. My suggestion would be do really well on the NLN.
