Passed!! 75 questions and done!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I waited until I received the official results before posting, I passed first time, stopped at 75 (thank God).

My advice, practice thousands of computer questions (I did 6000+-) get the response instantly don't wait until you complete the review test.

Read all the rationales regardless if you got the question right or wrong and understand why you got it right or wrong.

You are learning to take the test, learning what the question is and what response the NCLEX is looking for.

You don't need to review your entire nursing school, you are now learning the test.

Understand the implications of classes of drugs.

Review your basic steps of operations be able to put them in proper order.

I had 18 SATA questions (my last 8 were these darn things) my secret, look at each response as a separate true/false answer, don't mentally combine the responses, let them stand allow while you make the selections.

Good luck my brothers and sisters, trust in yourself and God, you will succeed if you put in the effort.

It's not easy, but it is fair.

WTG!! I just found out I passed with 75 too!! WOO HOO!!

congrats, and thanks for the tips! i'd like to talk to you a bit more about your studying process, in particular, whether or not you took kaplans.

thanks so much, and congrats again!

mod note, please do not post email addresses as per terms of service

No I did not do Kaplans I did my own (lots of questions).

I did use the school provided ATI program in it's entirety.

I did NOT revisit my nursing school curriculum, I reviewed when necessary the questions I got wrong while doing my practice exams.

I really relearned how to take a test, The NCLEX is as much learning what the question is as knowing the answer.

Your philosophy of learning is interesting, but definitely makes sense. It is unconventional, but you may have really influenced how I will study in December.

Do you have any resources (online or software) that you could guide me to (such as the ATI software you used)? I wouldn't mind paying shipping or other fees to get them.

Thanks!

I must say that I totally support your advice.I always felt that reviewing the material is just not simply enough.Several of my classmates did just that when preparing for the Hesi exam and totally bombed it.I think that in order to be to be successful in passing the NCLEX students need to become comfortable with answering the questions and do as much as possible before taking the exam-ideally like you did 6000.Certainly,rewiewing the material wont hurt however doing questions in my opinion guarantees better chance of passing the exam.

Nearly exactly the same as what my friends who took the NCLEX and passed the first time said.
