Passed nclex rn in 75 questions; what I would like to clarify!!!!!

Published

Took nclex rn in july, failed in 265 questions, retook it on wed 09/26 passed in 75 questions; so what do I want to clarify? I finished my exam thinking it was so easy and believe me I thought I failed b/c from what I have been reading on previous posts if you think your exam was easy that is a bad sign and vice-versa. Infact when I looked up almost 30 questions ( yes 30) that I was able to remember I got them all right. What am I saying? I am saying that nclex is one exam you cannot predict or explain; I did not have any cal or check all that apply. Lest I forget, Kaplan is the way to go. It costs $499, but it is way worth it. Prayers + Kaplan + Saunders = Success as far as nclex is concerned. That is my humble opinion. If you are not successful try and try again, you succeed at last. Thank GOD I am RN, BSN. :lol2:

Congratulations.

I was in the same boat. I took my first nclex in June. I was so anxious about it i vommitted in the parking lot before the exam. When I walked out i knew i had failed. I failed in the Frist 75 questions.

Just on wednesday i took the exam after stepping back the looking at what i screwed up on. I quit my full time job that was working me for over 40 hours a week. and I followed Suzanne's Plan. Just working hard and putting in the time for it really allowed me to relax and focus on the weak areas.

This time when i took the exam it stopped me at 75 questions again. but i felt a whole lot better about it since i could recognized all the questions. there was just only one question i didnt know junk but i knew the topic. All in all you just have to believe in yourself. if your worried you know if you put in the time and effort youll know if you passed or not. and If you didnt it doesnt mean your a failure. deep down somewhere you know if you were given another chance you can do it

Congrats i am so glad you posted this b/c i am due to take the boards on 10/10 and have been doing 90% of kaplan and a little bit on saunders but recently was doubting spending so much time on kaplan after everyone have been commenting how they still failed with kaplan. I failed my first test with 265 and feel better after doing the kaplan complete. Do you mind me asking what your scores were? i'm avering 60% on q-bank? i guess you never really feel ready for this test? did you stick with the top ten subjects ?

My kaplan q-trainer scores are as follows:

Q-Trainer 1 84%

Q-Trainer 2 73.33%

Q-Trainer 3 74%

Q-Trainer 4 62.67%

Q-Trainer 5 58.67%

Q-Trainer 6 65%

Q-Trainer 7 69.06%

My average Q-bank score was 62%. I scheduled my test on 09/24 and took it on 09/26; this is because I didn't want to be under pressure, I just wanted to regain my confidence first b/4 rescheduling. You cannot be ready enough but a voice inside of you will tell you you are ready. Goodluck.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! i'll be taking the exam for the second time soon. hope i could make it too. Goodluck on your RN career! :)

I Totally agree w/you Prayers, Kaplan, Saunders, a person has already invested a lot into it the little bit of expense to go to boards prepared to pass is just pennies IMO
