Just Curious !!!!!!!!!!!!1
I am a new grad/nurse living in TX. I just read a thread about group one and how supervisors are blacklisting nurses and I am really scared to my bone marrow. I just graduated in may 2007 and took my boards in july but was unsuccessful; the hospital I was working at a time offered me a tech position which I declined b/cos I felt like I needed to focus and pass my board exams. My supervisor told me she does not have any choice than to terminate me since I am not eligible to be placed on leave. So my question is, Is it a possibility that she might have reported me to group one? Am I not supposed to inform my employer and stop practicing as a GN after failing the boards?. Don't I have a choice of working as a tech or just not working? The BNE made it clear that your graduate nurse permit expires as soon as you fail your board exam.Again I am just curious. What do you think? Your response will be highly appreciated.:uhoh21:

Should I mention this on my resume?
I am so stressed out right now that I do not even know what to do? I graduated in May 2007 and was lucky enough to be employed as a graduate nurse at a hospital. I only worked for a month when I took my boards exam but was unsuccessful. They offered me a tech position which I declined b/cos I felt like I needed to focus to pass my board exams; and worst of all I was going through a divorce so I felt like I needed a break. Ofcourse I informed my director about my willingness to return to work as soon as I pass my boards but she said the only options I had was to work as a tech or be terminated. Anyways she went ahead and terminated me b/cos according to her I am not illegible yet to be placed on a leave since I had only worked for 1 month. After taking my boards in sept. AND PASSED, I applied at a mental hospital that was so unsafe to practice as a new grad RN. I had 5 days orientation, supposed to be the only RN on the unit with only 1 lvn. I was supposed to do all admissions, discharges, charting on 23-29 pts I sometimes did not have the opportunity of interacting with. This hospital was very unsafe for a new nurse like me and I did not want to put my career in jeopardy so I did not have another choice than to inform my supervisor that I was leaving after only 2 weeks, so I left that job. Now my question is do I put these on my resume or just keep myself as a new grad? I seriously need your advice. THANKS.

I need your advice ASAP
I appreciate all the advice and input from everyone. I went to my place of work this morning to voice out my concerns to my supervisor and she assured me that all this week two additional nurses will be on the unit to work with me (all PRN). But she still emphasized that eventually I will be the only RN on the unit with one LVN; THAT IS THEIR POLICY! PERIOD... Well I asked for a day off just to think about what to do next but she declined my request. But anyways I just went ahead and decided to RUN for good. I feel like she is trying to convince me to stay by just making it better for the next 5 days. My question is do I include this one week of job experience in my resume or just keep myself as a new grad? Again I will appreciate every input. THANKS.

I need your advice ASAP
I am a new grad RN, and I picked up this job at a mental hospital. Before accepting the offer I made sure I asked all my questions. I was told I will have an orientation for 5 days after which I am supposed to be on my own. But also was told that I will be working with one LVN and another experienced RN. To my surprise I just found out that actually I will be the only RN on the unit working 3-11pm with an LVN who was supposed to be the med nurse. So I am responsible for admissions, discharges, teaching, charting; and I am talking about 23-29 patients on an adult chemical dependency unit. Ofcourse they do not have a secretary so I am responsible for that too. Even at that nobody is responsible for orienting me; I just have to ask as many questions as I can . As a new grad I really do not feel comfortable being the only RN on the unit, and worst of all I do not know how I am supposed to be charting on pts that I did not even interact with throughout the shift b/cos I was busy doing admissions/discharges etc. P/S fellow nurses what do you all think? Is this familiar or the norm in psych settings? Is this safe? I do not want to jeopardize my career. Any advise will be highly appreciated.

Any Words Of Advice For Some1 Testing In 2 Days!!!
I agree with betterme29; I will concentrate on reviewing my notes/flashcards b/c if u keep doing questions and getting them wrong u might lose ur confidence. Relax as much as u can, and most importantly pray. GOODLUCK. I did it and I know u can.

looking for a job!!!!!!!!
Well I just graduated in May 2007 and took some time off to study for my NCLEX amidst personal problems that I was going through. I took my boards in Oct and passed; so I am a new RN, BSN. But I am now looking for an internship program. It seems like every job that I have seen requires experience, so my question is how I am I supposed to get the experience if I am not given a chance as a new grad?:uhoh21:

NCLEX retake
Yes u will have to pay $200 to pearson vue plus $100 to the BNE; that is a total of $300 each time u retake. If it has been one year since u sent ur fingerprint to BNE you add additional $35 to the $100 b/c the finger prints are only valid for one year. So it could even be $335 each time u retake. Just plan on not retaking the exam. GOODLUCK.

discouraged about nclex
I am sorry u didn't pass. I had to take it 2x b/4 passing just a week ago. I was going to work as a tech. but I made a decision not to work at all and devote 2 months to studying. Believe me it paid off in the end b/c I really needed to focus. But if u need to work then u just have to do what u have to do to survive. I used kaplan review course and I made sure that I understand why an answer is right or wrong. I also used Prioritization, Delegation and Assignment review book by Mosby, Saunders Q/A and the 250 new format questions book by lippincott. Just think, breath and drink NCLEX, and forget all other side attractions. Believe me u can do this. Lest I forget, I used NCSBN online review b/4 I tested the first time but felt like it did not help me b/c it gives answers without rationale; and secondly the answers are quite predictable; no where close to what I saw on NCLEX. Goodluck.

Licensing contingent upon receiving school transcripts?
I am just curious. Anyone know if school would have to send transcripts to BON b/4 a license is issued. Just trying to figure out how long is going to take to receive my license.
