hello!

thank you so much for your congrats and the rest :loveya:. yesterday i was way to excited to write more than i did...

i studied from kaplan, lagerquist, cracking the nclex and i tried to do as many practice questions as i could. soon after the test started i felt like i don't know anything, but i read every question carefully knowing that the answer is right there under my nose. at some point i was worried about the time, it was flying, and i told myself, "that this is only a trial and i will be more prepared next time". all this lasted 5 hours.

i had plenty of infection control questions, too many i think, and my advise for those who are preparing for this test is to review infection control, transmission, airborne, droplets, contact, etc. i had few math questions, to find how many ml and gtt. i know i got those right!

i had some sata, arrange in chronological order, abg and prioritize. those were tricky, but abcs and maslow, "dear maslow" as they call him in "nclex for dummies", helped me.

i had no hope at all that i will pass, even now i have doubts:chuckle. i left the room completely dizzy and after i got into my car i started to cry really bad and i could hardly see the road in front of me while i was driving to pick up my child from school. don't do as i did, it's not safe:d.

study and pray!

i just took my nclex-rn last tuesday, sept 22. i had 265 questions with 12 SATAs, 3 drug computations, lots of meds, infection control questions, 2 drag and drop as well as transcultural nursing items.. like most of you, i was freaking out after the computer didnt shut down at 75.. i thought it would stop at 100.. i didn't even take the 2 optional breaks hoping that i would stop any time sooner but it didn't until it reached to 150, 200, 250.. still not.

in the end, i was there for 5 hours and 40 minutes.. after the test, i felt so drained and depressed. i cried a lot of times.. but i kept on praying and believing that i did my best, and reviewed for months. fortunately this morning, a day after my exam, the results were already posted. and I PASSED. Praise the Lord!

finally, my hard work paid off.

anyways, im sure that this is not true as they say, but it worked for me. the night before i was searching for some tips and found out this one:

LAST QUESTION OF 265

If you sit for the total possible questions of 265, you must pay careful attention to the last question. If you pass the last question you will pass the whole exam, if you fail the last question. This is because at 264 questions without the computer shutting down you still have not shown your ability enough for your exam to be over and so the outcome is based on the last question! Tough but true.

true enough, i did answer my last question (knowledge level about the greatest risk for a certain cancer) correctly..

i just wanna remind you guys that prayers really work... i can really attest to that. thank you for this forum, i was able to read a lot of comforting words here regarding the experiences of other rns who answered all 265 items in their nclex..it lightened me up somehow. this forum is such a big help!

more power to you all.. and good luck to all future nurses!

:D

tw:) congratulations!!!:yeah:

i took the test in california. how about you?

good job!

Congratulations!

took mine in New Jersey. its good that we have quick results here. my sister also took the nclex same date as mine but its for California. she's still waiting for the results.. she stopped at 75..
