  1. mikeybns, i don't really know the answer to this problem, but i am a new grad and i know how hard it is to find a job. i'm very discouraged by what it's going on at this time. they all ask for years of experience, and how can somebody get experience when no one will give you a chance to work and try you out. i've met nurse from different countries and they were telling me, that years ago they got nurses jobs and they couldn't even speak english at that time. another thing that i've heard from people in the field is to have someone in there and if they recommend you, you might have a chance. many facilities are using travel nurses. this means that they have the required experience and the employer pays no benefits. what is next? i wish to know.
  2. tw:) congratulations!!! i took the test in california. how about you? good job!
  3. hello! thank you so much for your congrats and the rest :loveya:. yesterday i was way to excited to write more than i did... i studied from kaplan, lagerquist, cracking the nclex and i tried to do as many practice questions as i could. soon after the test started i felt like i don't know anything, but i read every question carefully knowing that the answer is right there under my nose. at some point i was worried about the time, it was flying, and i told myself, "that this is only a trial and i will be more prepared next time". all this lasted 5 hours. i had plenty of infection control questions, too many i think, and my advise for those who are preparing for this test is to review infection control, transmission, airborne, droplets, contact, etc. i had few math questions, to find how many ml and gtt. i know i got those right! i had some sata, arrange in chronological order, abg and prioritize. those were tricky, but abcs and maslow, "dear maslow" as they call him in "nclex for dummies", helped me. i had no hope at all that i will pass, even now i have doubts:chuckle. i left the room completely dizzy and after i got into my car i started to cry really bad and i could hardly see the road in front of me while i was driving to pick up my child from school. don't do as i did, it's not safe:d. study and pray!

  7. Hello everyone, This is indeed a good news. waitingforthedream I had no idea that there is no charge for Suzanne's plan. She has a big heart then. All my respect. I have read that we are allowed to use a calculator on the test. Is that true?? Thank you
