  1. Hello- I used a wide variety of books/ review programs. The most helpful in my option was Kaplan workbook called Strategies for the NCLEX RN- Very helpful and easy fast read. It gave me a lot of practice with priority. I also did the NCSBN program and retook the Kaplan class - for the 2nd time. I spent a lot of money this time!! But at least it all paid off. I do have the book that is used for Suzannes Plan but in my opinon I think that Saunders questions are too easy and not near as helpful as Kaplans. Good Luck!!
  2. Well Guys!!! I PASSED!!! I truly never thought I could say that!! :) I am an RN after three attempts!! Third Time REally is a Charm!! People who are studying!! - Don't give up!! Stay determined and confident!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!! :) :)
  3. To be honest- You need to just prepare yourself to go in and take all the questions. That way if you dont have all of them its just kinda a surprise- Dont freak out!! That is the worst thing you can do!! I have taken the test 3 times and 2 of those times I got 265 questions.... Im not really sure how they decided to give me that... but they did!!
  4. Hey Guys!! Well I took my NCLEX RN exam for the 3rd time today!!! Im really hoping its my last. I wasn't nervous because I felt really prepared. I felt like I got a ton of priority questions and teaching.... It was very overwhelming!! At one point I wanted to cry, but I held it together and kept telling myself it would be over sooner or later!! Once I passed 75 I knew I was in for the long haul and would be answering all 265. I was toward the end when I realized that I had NO medication calculations.... What does that mean?? I always have gotten caluclations in the past- anyone else ever had this happen to them?? Let me know!! Thanks!!
  5. Alright- I have posted on here before. I have taken the NCLEX RN twice 1st time only 75 questions and next time 265. After being upset about it I have just been studying my tush off between working full time as a PCT. I am now at this point where I feel like I work more than I study and I hate it. I was getting ready to put in my two weeks so that I could focus on studying, but now I have health problems that I need to get taken care off. I have already scheduled my NCLEX for Jan 8th and am now considering rescheduling due to surgery. The date is not yet set but the dr is thinking mid January. My last date to test is on Feburary 10th!! Im just really confused of what I should do. I just dont know. Im already stressed out enough, as if this surgery is what I needed to deal with. Help I need some advice from people that I know how stressfull it is to deal with preparing for the NCLEX. Im about to go crazy.....
  6. Rach you are not alone!! I just posted to you!! We are in this together. all my friends passed too with 75!! I was the opposite of you I was 75 the first time and 265 the second time!! We should really talk!!
  7. Hey Rach- Im in the same boat as you! I have too failed twice. I am beyond tired of studying!! What are you doing this time?? I am finding it hard to be motivated to study especially around the holidays!! I love spending time with my family and friends but I feel like I need to be studying....uggh so frustrated!!
  8. My ATT is good until February 2nd of 2009. Do you think that will be enough time though?? And what is so good about Suzannes Plan??
  9. Hey Guys- Im new the forum, I have been a lurker for a while but i figured I might as well join. I am just to this point of complete frustration where I dont know what to do anymore. Let me explain. I graduated in May of 2008 with my BSN from a great school. I had my dream job in pediatrics critical care all lined up and secured. So I took a position working only PRN. Well in June of 2008 my father passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack, he was only 52. I am completely devastated and still grieving. I am bullheaded and when I get my mind on something I stick to it. So I had scheduled my test for early July, rather than moving it, I ended up taking it. I got 75 questions, and knew that I failed before even getting my results. So I went in and told my boss and she said thats fine we will keep you on PRN. So I studied really really hard. I did nothing else expect study and work ocassionally. All the meantime my fiance is trying to find a job, without any success, great guy, well qualified, no experience. (same song and dance) I ended up taking it again in at the end of September. So I thought I was ready and I went in confident. I sat for over 4 and 1/2 hours with all 265 questions. I was so nervous. Got my results and was devasted that I didnt pass. So I call my boss and she says well we cant hold your job. So all we have availabe as a UAP/PCT/PCA is full time. So I am now working full time, trying to study on my days off and my fiance is looking for a job all at the same time!! Talk about STRESS!! I am over my head. I feel like I have hit a brick wall and have almost lost the motivation to study!! I am trying NCSBN this time around, since I did Kaplan twice now!! I have read about Suzannes plan but I already have my ATT and have yet to schedule my test. Im worried I wont have enough time to do that plan!! What should I do?? I feel like I should quit work, but then I wont be an "internal" canidate to an RN position once I pass. Then again if I continue to work, I feel like I have no time to study???? And will fail again for the 3rd time. Any suggestions would be great!! I hate being miserable, especially around the holidays!!:uhoh21:
  10. Hey NYGiant I am in the same boat!! I graduated in May of 2008 and have tried to pass the NCLEX RN twice now! It has been the most frustrating experience. I took Kaplan the first time, and then extended my membership the second time. After not passing the second time, I am trying a new studying with the NCSBN website. So far I like it, but I dont feel like I am as prepared as I was my first time. I am so tired of studying:banghead: And it is getting really old quick!! Seriously for the past 6 months all I have done is question if this is what I should really be doing. Then I talked to my boss who told me that my job could no longer be held for me in my pediatrics department. So that was a big let down. Its been a crappy 6 months!! But hang in there hopefully you will have better motivation to study than me!!
