I haven't posted here in a long long time. After a couple of set backs I finally took my first exam- Lifespan- and managed an "A"!

I don't see how you do it all! You're an inspiration. You don't know how many women I know who whine and cry about silly stuff. Here you are with a "full plate" as it is and still manage to do this program. You go girl!Christy
Thanks for the pat on the back. I think all of us LPN's who go through Excelsior have a full plate. We are just a motivated bunch.
I haven't heard from the school yet about the CPNE. It has been a couple of weeks since I passed the last NC exam, so I'm checking the mailbox everyday, though I heard it takes about a month before you hear from them.
I started the program in November of 2004 and finished the last NC exam a couple of weeks ago. I made B's on all except NC 6. I made a C on that. If you are an experienced LPN you can take these exams as fast as you can pay for them (luckily, I had some help there). Most everything on the content guides are things you will be familiar with. For the most part it was review.
Good luck and if there is anything I can help with let me know.
i believe i read somewhere that LPN's are exempt from nc2 if they graduated within 5 years of an accredited school? i don't know if i remember that correctly though, so all the excelsior grads/students who are reading, please correct me if i am wrong!congrats on your baby! i have a 4.5 year old and a 3 year old!
LPN/LVN's are exempt from NC2, but don't know what NC2 consists of anyway. Can someone tell me? I want to make sure that I get the most out of this program. I just started with College Network on Sociology - it's hard to learn independent study - I've been signed on since the end of March and only a third of the way finished. Not a good start. I'm waiting for the remainder of my guides since I have to take some prereqs - micro, lifespan, english comp, sociology, NC's and foundations. I hope that's all besides CPNE. I also signed up for the NCLEX-RN which I understand is packed full of goodies. Later....

To be exempt from NC 2 (even if you are an LPN who has graduated in the last 5 yrs. with at least a B average) the LPN school you went to must be approved by some kind of organization. In my state of Tennessee, they have no schools that qualify for exemption, so be sure to check that your school was.
NC 2 wasn't a bad test. A lot of nutrition on it, that is what I remember.
