Passed CA NCLEX 2008, just got SSN this 2012, applied for CA-RN license

Hi to all! I passed the nclex last 2008. I just got my SSN last month as an employer based immigrant. Just a week ago, I submitted my Completed Application for Licensure by Examination including a U.S. social security number as instructed by the CA BON. My school also forwarded the needed documents.

My questions are:

Has someone gone through the same thing as I am?

What happened?

Did they release your license or not?

If yes: How long did you wait for your license?

If not: What did they say? Can you send me a copy? Did they make you do further studies?

--As i have said, I am on employment based petition, so with this, my employer is waiting for my license. With this, my life is on hold. I hope to be enlightened with this. Thank you so much.

wow, good for you at least you are working while waiting for Ca license, and with your credentials and some experience, finding an employer in Ca is a piece of cake:yes:. with masters there's a wide option for further studies, fyi my sister is a nurse practitioner(masters i think is prerequisite) and in military service. I should have taken masters while waiting for priority date. Anyway, we have waited too long, I hope they will issue us the license with no hassle.

Hopefully ;( Im actually doing travel nursing right now and renewed my contract in Seattle. I've been living and working in Canada the past 6 years and recently just moved here on a TN visa. I'm hoping to at least pick up an assignment in California. I miss the sun. I will update once they give me a license. Unfortunately, I've been waiting for my card since May. The first two got lost in the mail and now they are still verifying my legal status from homeland security.

Called the BRN to update my application. The lady on the other line informed that I lack documents from school like TOR, RLE & educ breakdown. Good thing I had the tracking info the school sent me which indicated the date, time and the person who received and signed my papers. She, the lady from the BRN also informed me that they sent a letter to my address( Sept 27), stating that I had a missing education history (it should appeared on my breeze account, but it didn't) and it's alarming to me because I did not receive any mail from the BRN. She asked me to give them time to find the missing paper & them call back just to know if every paper required is on their file on Oct 17:uhoh3::uhoh3:. And given the scenario that if they didn't find it, then I have 2 option, one is I have to request again to my college (which will take them a month) or CGFNS eDAS for $225 (price more expensive than applying for a license)!!!:no:

I am planning to file a complaint if my papers really went missing due Oct 17.

Made another call to BRN inquiring if it is ok to change my address through Breeze. The operator said its ok.

I decided to change my address just because the notice from BRN was not received.

Oct 7 (today)

I checked on my breeze account today, and still nothing. Meanwhile, my friend is celebrating because today she learned that she is now officially Ca licensed nurse, as checked on breeze. Im so so happy for her  really...but I can't help if i express my anguish because of negligence on the part of some BRN staff. I think its fair to feel the way I felt.

BTW, my friend applied 2 weeks later than mine. I guess some people are just born lucky.

Hi, i received a mail frm brn last sept 27 stating that i need to send a clear copy of my ssn and diploma. So i did mailed a copy they requested but it says in the letter that i should wait 4wks for them to process my docs.

I submitted mine June 28. But then it took me a while to send my SS card because it was lost in the mail 2x. The board started processing my application in Sept 2 and I got a letter in Sept 6. Once they open your application, they are pretty much fast with the processing. I emailed my analyst a copy of my SS card yesterday and he replied back with my license number today.

Congrats to you Renzlao BSN, MSN, RN!!

In my case, my application had covered the 12 weeks period and no license for me yet. Apparently, my documents from college went missing. If I will request those again from the nursing school, it will take a month, so I purchased the eDAS of CGFNS to send the documents (except the breakdown). I took the plunge even if Im not really sure they will accept that. I ordered last Monday, on Tuesday they sent them electronically and Wednesday copies was sent and on its way to Ca BRN. Has anybody here used eDAS? Please let me know what happened.

Finally talked to somebody from BRN.. I asked about my status and she just told me that she don't know what happened to my application and why it is withdrawn.then she connected me to a voicemail...we all know they are very busy...but it is soooo frustrating coz i've waited 30min to get connected to them, then ended up with nothing and i didn't get any updates about my application..í ½í¸¢í ½í¸¢í ½í¸¢

I feel you. Ive been there, called, waited, transferred to my evaluator, kept my hopes up to finally get the answer and ended up hanging because I ended up leaving message but never replied to. I tried and failed 3x. Its like drought season, everyday waiting for drops of rain to come. No assurance. All I have is unrelenting faith and draining patience

At least they will give us an update or explaination of what's happening in our applications and at least it will ease up our anxious mind.

Hi!

I just want to ask if this is still the same process as of today? I need to have an active license in California because some states require an active license from my exam state (California). I need to complete application for examination?

thank you!
