Passed CA NCLEX 2008, just got SSN this 2012, applied for CA-RN license

Hi to all! I passed the nclex last 2008. I just got my SSN last month as an employer based immigrant. Just a week ago, I submitted my Completed Application for Licensure by Examination including a U.S. social security number as instructed by the CA BON. My school also forwarded the needed documents.

My questions are:

Has someone gone through the same thing as I am?

What happened?

Did they release your license or not?

If yes: How long did you wait for your license?

If not: What did they say? Can you send me a copy? Did they make you do further studies?

--As i have said, I am on employment based petition, so with this, my employer is waiting for my license. With this, my life is on hold. I hope to be enlightened with this. Thank you so much.

Hi there Winel, as of the moment you have a license in NY correct? We do not have exactly the same situation but since you took the exam in california before maybe they still have your record from way back in 2010. As far as reciprocity is concerned (from california to NY) I am not very familiar with the process if they send all of your documents to NY to get your license there. You can always try to apply again in CA BON and submit all the documents mentioned here in this thread.

Yeah you should put an x in the check box because technically you took the exam already back in 2010. Just don't forget to submit your passing letter so that they will find your old file # associated with your file. Best of luck to you.

Yes right now i have i license in NY.. We have the same case with Mishanibeee who previously posted on this thread.. For her case the evaluator told her to apply for license instead of endorsement.. So i have hope.. Im not leaving CA to NY for work, i'm gonna be with my family here.. I am just a week here so i am waiting for the SSN to start the application..

MyQuestion:

1. So i'm going to say "YES" on the form?

2. Do i need the "INTEREM PERMIT"?

3. How much is the live scan and where can i get a live scan here in CA?

Thank you for providing us readers with experience based information regarding expired nclex pass letters and its reapplication to get the coveted license. HOPE is restored. I passed my nclex for California state in 2008 but never got my license because i dont have SSN. I thought i wasted time, effort and money for pursuing that dream of becoming a USRN. When i came across this thread and went on reading posts from other succesful nurses, i've realized i can still live that dream. However, im currently processing my UK NMC registration and im grateful to have been blessed with these opportunities. For now, i am taking this path and when im finally settled, i will try to do a lot of deep contemplation if i should pick up where i left off.

God bless all the nurses out there who never gave up on their dreams. Cheers!

Hi miles214, i've read that you submitted the Nursing Verification Program form to your school along with the other documents. I am just confused whether I really need to send it too because from what i understood from that form, you just need that if your school provided you accommodation due to your disability. Instead, i submitted the Individual Candidate Roster form to my school. Im afraid I made a mistake with that. Pls help me be enlightened with this. Thank you

Yes it should come from the school mailed directly to the CA BON. In the application form for licensure, you have to submit to your school the REQUEST FOR TRANSCRIPT, BREAKDOWN OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR INTERNATIONAL NURSING PROGRAMS, and NURSING PROGRAM VERIFICATION. You can leave these forms to your school before you leave the country since you have to fill out the first part of REQUEST FOR TRANSCRIPT. Make sure though that you submit an application right away when you get here so that the records from the school will not arrive first instead of the application. Good luck!

I graduated from the university of nueva caceres in bicol. How about you?

I graduated from Butuan Doctors College in Mindanao.

I did not call them i just do what others do here, send all the necessary documents.

Actually 2 of us here has kinda different situations coz we both endorsed ours to NY and we want to get a license here also. If you read previous messages you'll find Mishanbee, and she has a license now. So i am hoping and praying too that they will grant me.
