Pasadena city college nursing school

I was looking at the PCC nursing school brochure and it said that upon acceptance of nursing school, they take the grade point average of the required prerequisite courses only. Does this mean that every other class that I took and received a grade for has no effect on their decision to accept me or not? Thank you very much

My apology. I took English 101 at East L.A. College in 1993 and as a result, I have my A.A. Degree from there. I thought you were asking me what's required to get into the nursing program. I apologize but you need to take a look at your registration date and time, and see if you're able to get into the class. I can't help you on this. Plus you have to consult with a counselor for your career goals. If you're asking how to get in or what's required for nursing; then I maybe able to help you. You're on your own for this one. Have a nice day.:chuckle

morningstar99999,

How hard is the prereq. English 1A class to get through? If I take it during winter intersession at night do I have a better chance at getting the class? I have very little priority.

I went to PCC after High School and transferred out to my University for my first Bachelor's. Great School, Great professors. I did take 1A there. It's not super hard, it is a lot of reading and writing. It's doable over an intersession but you have to be committed to it and willing to put in the work. Hope that helped.

Hello all, I was wondering if there are any LVN's or Generic students that could lend some advise ANY advise? I'm abt to start the career ladder program next week, and I could use any pointers that you may have. Also, has anyone taken the ati test? Was it hard to pass? Any studying pointers? Thanks very much!!!

Hello KarmaRene. So apparently I am not eligable to pm yet b/c I do not have enough posts. I have a question for you? Since you are starting in the Spring semester ladder program do you think you could work if you wanted to once the intersession rolls around? I would appreciate any info.

Just thought I'd join this thread and ask if anyone has applied for the program yet for FALL2010? I just turned in my application on tuesday. I actually also applied for RAD Tech as a back up (I'm so tired of waiting) GL to all of those who applied

I also applied for PCC's fall admission for the RN program. =] I have heard great things about that school. My friend is currently in the dental hygiene program and loves it there. As a back up, I applied to LA County. And if I don't get accepted to those schools for fall, I will have Santa Monica College to fall back on for the following year. As soon as March is here, I will be officially wait-listed there. Yay =]

Hey Jenny, Let me know when you hear anything from PCC. I believe they send out acceptance e-mails, but hopefully we will both receive our acceptance and start in the fall.. WOOHOO!!

I sent in my PCC RN application for fall 2010 about 2 weeks ago. I'm hoping to get into a CSU BSN program & PCC is one of my back up plans.

Always smart to have a back up plan. Especially with how competitive the field is right now... GL to us all.

Anyone know how many applicants PCC & Citrus College are accepting for their fall 2010 ADN program? I have a 4.0 pre-req GPA and I felt pretty confident about having those schools as backup. But after hearing about other schools cutting back due to educational budget cuts, I am not so confident anymore.
