Pasadena city college nursing school

Published

I was looking at the PCC nursing school brochure and it said that upon acceptance of nursing school, they take the grade point average of the required prerequisite courses only. Does this mean that every other class that I took and received a grade for has no effect on their decision to accept me or not? Thank you very much

I'm not sure how many they are accepting, but I did apply last "round" and a high GPS in your pre-reqs, along with a high grade in your English 1A will preetty much get you a guarantee entry.

do they look at your teas score after they have processed ur application?

PCC's RN program information brochure didn't mention anything about the TEAS exam. I'm pretty sure you'll have to take it & pass it once you're accepted into the program however.

Also, i'm sure if you've already taken it and passed with a grade that meets PCC requirements, your good to go.

the problem is that i only took the teas test once like 2 years ago and i did not really have a good score. I dont know if they will look only at the first teas test score or if they will be okay me re-taking it again. =/

You might want to call PCC to find out for sure, but it seems like TEAS score is not part of the application evaluation process. Other community colleges that I applied to all indicate that TEAS is only necessary after you've been accepted. Typically, 70% (or slightly lower) is the "passing score" for community college ADN programs.

I turned in my application today! we'll see wat happens now...

-_-

To those that have applied: What is your GPA in the core science classes, Eng, & math?

Anyone out there - that's in the PCC nursing program - that can tell me what GPA they had when they got accepted?

I have A's in the core science and B's in math & English. I'm hoping that is enough to get in.

Pre-algebra math requirement must be met in order to qualify for PCC, but I don't think math is part of the selection criteria. I think prerequisite GPA is based on English, micro, physio, and anatomy (plus number of repeats in science).

i applied for the fall quarter when do you think they'll start contacting you if you did or didn't get into their school?!

According to the thread for fall 2009 entry, it'll be a long wait. It's looking like we have to wait until June...sucks!

**** yeah that DOES suck!!
